Position Overview
The State of Minnesota (MNIT), in partnership with the Department of Children, Youth, and Families (DCYF), is seeking an experienced Azure Database Architect to support the modernization of the Comprehensive Child Welfare Information System (CCWIS). This role will lead the architecture, design, implementation, and support of Azure Databases, Data Lakes, and Data Lakehouse solutions while consolidating data from 87 county databases into a centralized Azure platform. The ideal candidate will also mentor architects and database engineers while driving secure, scalable, and high-performance cloud data solutions.
Required Skills
  • Strong experience designing, developing, and implementing Azure Data Lakes and relational/non-relational databases
  • Strong experience with Azure Databricks
  • Strong experience with Oracle Databases
  • Experience developing data transformation solutions and cloud infrastructure integrations
  • Experience coding and testing data load programs using Azure data load utilities
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines
  • Strong understanding of cloud computing concepts
  • Experience with Azure Data Factory, Azure Monitor, Azure Resource Manager, Azure CLI/PowerShell, SQL Analytics, and Query Performance Insight
