DUTIES:
  • Responsible for database administration on Oracle Exadata appliance engineered systems, solving complex performance problems, capacity planning and automation.
  • Perform SQL code development and tuning.
  • Ensure availability, security and integrity of assigned databases.
  • Resolve database performance, capacity, replication, and other distributed data issues.
  • Install and configure database management software (DBMS) and applicable service packs and/or patches.
  • Develop and implement database maintenance plans, including performing integrity checks, updating statistics and monitoring security and hardware resource utilization.
  • Establish regular backups of databases and archive logs.
  • Advanced knowledge of RAC and DataGuard.
  • Manage logins and user accounts, including assigning database object permissions and ancillary privileges.
  • Schedule and manage jobs for data transfers and sundry procedures and monitors performance and impact on operations.
  • Participate in data modeling and database logical and physical design.
  • Participate in application development processes and code reviews of database objects.
  • Analyze long-term database performance trends to optimize database and application performance.
  • Configure database server to work with middleware, web servers and OnLine Analytical Processing (OLAP) tools.
  • Configure, support, and optimize replication.
  • Perform acceptance testing on computer systems, applications and hardware.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or related.
  • Five (5) years in any occupation with database administration, database programming, or related experience.
  • Five (5) years in any occupation with database administration, database programming, or related experience must include:
  • Five (5) years of experience as a hands-on Senior Oracle Database Administrator with the following Oracle products:
  • Oracle RDBMS Enterprise Edition, Real Application Clusters (RAC), Replication solutions including Data Guard and Golden Gate, Exadata and other engineered systems, Multitenant, Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM).
  • Experience must also include: Oracle 19c, 18c, 12c, ASM, database monitoring, and Linux OS; RMAN backup/restore with optimization;
  • Exadata/Oracle patching procedure;
  • Performance tuning and analysis using AWR, ASH, wait analysis;
  • Automation and scripting using Ansible Shell Scripting and Python.
