What You Will Do
Under general supervision, responsible for processing, transporting and storing sample material as well as performing various administrative, logistical and technical duties in support of departmental driven functions, projects and programs.
 
  • Photograph core
  • Assay sample submittal and tracking
  • Evaluation of sample material/intervals
  • Manual handling and transport of sample material
  • Prep samples for analysis/assay including prep of QA/QC samples
  • Slit and/or saw core
  • Purchase and track inventory and supplies and assist with other administrative functions, such as logging project progress, participate in bar code generation, placement and scanning, and data entry
  • Account administration; Service Order management and invoice reconciliation/processing
  • Administer the Facilities/Asset Maintenance Program
  • Administer/support Sample Standards Program
  • Assist with safety coordination and presentation of safety meetings
  • Field GPS survey support and survey data management
  • Assist with database management and data validation including digitizing and other modeling support
  • Drill log and data management including QA/QC program support
  • Perform other duties as required
What You Bring To Freeport

Minimum Qualifications

  • At least two (2) years of experience performing the duties of a Core Technician/Geological Technician
  • Basic knowledge of using a computer
  • Capable of using a measuring tape
  • Ability to follow directions and coordinate work with others
  • Good organizational skills
  • Ability to develop and maintain awareness of occupational hazards and safety precautions
  • Skilled in following safety practices and recognizing hazards
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing

Preferred

  • High School diploma or GED
  • Demonstrated high level of attention to detail
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically including Word and Excel
  • Experience with SAP, ORAS, and/or CAS

The estimated pay range for this role is currently$24.50 - $33.00/hour. This range reflects base salary only and does not include bonus payments, benefits or retirement contributions. Actual base pay is determined by experience, qualifications, skills and other job-related factors. This role is eligible for additional discretionary and incentive payment considerations based on company and individual performance.
