Who Are We?

SSR Mining Inc. is an intermediate gold company with four producing assets located in the USA, Canada, and Argentina, combined with a global pipeline of high-quality development and exploration assets in the USA, Turkey, and Canada.

SSR's commitment to safety, collaboration, and excellence allows us to continue building upon our already strong foundation. With an industry-leading pipeline of projects, strong financial positioning, and talented employees, we look forward to our bright future!

Job Description:

Reporting to the Resource Development Director, the Senior Geologist is a key member of SSR's Resource Development team and collaborates with other departments of the company. You will play an important role in leading geological practices across target generation, project evaluation, exploration planning, litho-structural mapping, 3D implicit modeling, model interpretation, and QA/QC, in compliance with SSR's best practices (including the highest HSEC standards).

The Day to Day:

  • Assist in the identification, evaluation, prioritization and advancement of brownfield targets across the company portfolio, enhancing the understanding of mine, near-mine and regional geology to support resource discovery and growth.

  • Conduct brownfield target generation through desktop studies and field investigations, integrating multidisciplinary datasets and targeting criteria to identify and evaluate precious metals opportunities.

  • Develop and continuously refine geological models and exploration hypotheses by integrating drilling results and multidisciplinary datasets to mature, rank and prioritize brownfield targets across the portfolio.

  • Evaluate and apply innovative exploration techniques, technologies and datasets to improve targeting effectiveness and accelerate discovery.

  • Lead the consolidation, standardization, maintenance and continuous updating of surface geological, geochemical, geophysical, drilling and exploration datasets within GIS platforms across the SSR Mining portfolio to support effective targeting, data accessibility and technical decision-making.

  • Prepare and present technical interpretations, target reviews and recommendations to technical and non-technical stakeholders, including senior leadership.

  • Collaborate closely with site geology, resource geology, mine geology and technical services teams to improve orebody understanding and align exploration activities with business priorities.

  • Provide technical oversight and peer review of drill programs across the portfolio, offering recommendations to optimize targeting strategies, geological understanding, and resource growth opportunities.

  • Act as a technical leader within the team by providing guidance, mentorship and training to junior geologists and technicians.

  • Lead geological mapping and prospecting programs in the field, prepare geological maps, drill sections and 3D models utilizing GIS and 3D modeling software

  • Contribute to database management and QA/QC to support high-quality geological interpretations and technical outcomes.

  • Demonstrate leadership in safety, stewardship of the environment & cultural heritage and effective stakeholder engagement

  • Travel extensively when required.

Is This You?

  • Strong background in litho-structural mapping.

  • Experience working in orogenic, epithermal and carlin gold systems.

  • Proficient user of GIS software (experience in ArcPRO would be considered and asset).

  • Proficiency with Leapfrog Geo (or equivalent 3D modelling software) is required.

  • Competence in Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, Access)

  • Strong ability to effectively communicate both orally and in writing in English.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team.

For applicants residing in CO, the salary range for this role is from $110,000-$125,000. Benefits: 401(k); medical/dental/vision insurance; employee share purchase plan, PTO, and STI.
