MANTECH seeks a motivated, career and customer orientated Senior Database Administrator to join our team supporting NSWC Corona Range Systems Department to manage Information Technology efforts in support of the Navy Enterprise Tactical Training Network (NETTN). This position will work from a government facility at Dam Neck, VA.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Database Design & Architecture: Develop and maintain complex database structures, schemas, and models (e.g., SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, Snowflake).
  • Performance Optimization: Proactively monitor, tune, and index databases for optimal speed and reliability, including query optimization.
  • Automation & Infrastructure: Build and manage database infrastructure using Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) and develop automation tools to minimize manual work and downtime.
  • Production Support & Security: Lead root cause analysis (RCA) for incidents, manage database upgrades, and implement security measures, including database encryption and access control.
  • Collaboration: Work with developers, DevOps, and data scientists to design efficient, scalable, and secure data solutions.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree (4 years of experience can be substituted for a degree)
  • Nine (9) Years of information technology experience
  • Two (2) Years of managerial experience with DoD efforts

Preferred Qualifications
  • Master of Science Degree in Information Technology or related field.
  • Familiarity with the United States Navy preferred.
  • Experience with NSWC Corona RS Division and NCTE

Clearance Requirements
  • Must have a current/active Secret Clearance.

Physical Requirements
  • 10% travel anticipated.
  • Work will require movement from ManTech Site to Government for client meetings and support functions.
  • The person in this position must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time. Occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets or to communicate with co-workers, management, and customers, via email, phone, and or virtual communication, which involve delivering presentations.

The projected compensation range for this position is $94,800.00-$157,200.00. There are differentiating factors that can impact a final salary/hourly rate, including, but not limited to, Contract Wage Determination, relevant work experience, skills and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location (For Remote Opportunities), education and certifications as well as Federal Government Contract Labor categories.
