Job description

OverviewHighly experienced Senior Quality Engineer with over 8 years of expertise in the driving process and customer quality improvements within high-volume manufacturing environments. Proven ability to lead complex and innovative projects aimed at reducing internal defects and external returns, while ensuring compliance with company standards and procedures.Experienced and results-driven Senior Quality Engineer with a strong background in quality systems, process improvement, and compliance within manufacturing environments. Skilled in leading cross-functional teams to identify root causes, implement corrective actions, and drive continuous improvement initiatives. Adept at applying statistical tools and quality methodologies such as Six Sigma, Core tools, SPC, etc. to ensure product reliability and customer satisfaction.Responsibilities
  • Lead process improvement to achieve and exceed plant quality objectives.
  • Manages all line inspections and Statistical Process Control activities.
  • Provide quality engineering expertise to assure compliance to specifications.
  • Leads activities to analyze quality assurance data and initiates root cause and corrective action efforts to eliminate assignable causes that affect product quality.
  • Work closely with product engineering and operations personnel to reduce manufacturing process variation and reduce plant's cost of quality.
  • Establish and manage incoming inspection lab and utilize data to drive continuous improvement.
  • Drive conformance of processes and procedures through internal audit process and corrective action process.
  • Maintain process control documentation like control plans and PFMEA.
  • Lead inspection reduction efforts including automation on parts measurement.
  • Participate in internal audits (quality, safety, BBS, BBQ) and corporate audits.
  • Train supervisors, leads, technicians, and operators in adherence to the plant quality system.ย ย 
  • Qualify and validate manufacturing processes using statistical tools.
  • Establish capabilities at plant test lab and complete test requests supporting quality projects and QMT.
Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in industrial engineering or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience
  • Skilled in project management, six sigma, total Quality Management (TQM).
  • Experienced with incoming inspection and supplier interaction.
  • Strong statistical knowledge, process validation, process capability studies, risk assessment.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Self-sufficient and thrive in a team environment.
  • Ability to influence and lead others, a change agent.
  • Strong interpersonal and negotiating skills.
  • Knowledge of Pareto analysis techniques, Gage R&R, FAI, PPAP, Control Plans and FMEA.
  • Skilled in the use of word-processing, spreadsheet, and database computer programs.
  • Enthusiastic, hardworking, oriented with a can-do attitude, working towards career advancement.
  • Effective at multitasking and time management.
  • Experience in new product introduction process.
  • 8Ds Methodology.
  • Metrology and measurement systems.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience in high volume manufacturing industry / Lean manufacturing orientation and/or 6Sigma.
  • Advanced technical degree or MBA
  • ASQ CQE and/or CQA
  • Experience in the use of InfinityQS or related field.
  • Quality Manager Experience
  • Bilingual English/Spanish communication skills.
  • 8+ years as Quality Engineer.
  • Molding experience will be a plus
