Senior Database Administrator Clearance- Top Secret Location- Offutt AFB, NE Salary- $115k-$125k/yr The above salary range represents the range expected for the position; however, final salary offers are based on a number of factors such as the position's responsibilities; the candidate's experience, education, and skills; location; travel required; and current market conditions. This program requires US Citizenship As the Senior Database Administrator, this individual will build, support, administer, and sustain a clustered-server database platform hosted in an enterprise IT environment. In this role, the Database Administrator will provide technical support for incident response, service degradations, outages, and other service interruptions. Responsibilities: * Investigate hardware and software problems related to the database-hosting infrastructure and perform corrective actions * Architects, designs, engineers, and documents database servers and associated infrastructure in clustered, stand-alone, and/or appliance-hosted configurations, which fulfill mission requirements, service specifications, and cyber security mandates * Implements robust backup, restoration, and disaster recovery strategies * Monitors, fine-tune, and optimize database performance for minimal downtime and maximum efficiency * Establishes and enforce stringent database security protocols and access controls * Collaborates closely with application development teams to design and optimize Oracle databases * Offers expertise in writing, tuning, and troubleshooting complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and ETL processes * Develops, executes and oversees data migration initiatives when required * Develops and maintains advanced automation scripts for streamlined database provisioning and management * Enhances monitoring and alerting systems to proactively identify and resolve database issues * Spearheads scalability and high availability efforts for Azure SQL, Synapse Analytics, and other cloud-based databases while managing cloud resources and optimizing cost-effectiveness * Maintains comprehensive documentation detailing database configurations, procedures, and best practices * Regularly generate performance and usage reports to support informed decision-making * Drives problem resolution and root cause analysis across the technology stack * Participates in the resolution of database availability, capacity, and performance issues * Participates in infrastructure and organizational initiatives across multiple IT disciplines * Sustains fleet of physical and virtual database-hosting servers running a mix of operating systems (Open Systems and Windows Systems) in multiple network environments * Performs daily operations, onsite support, and on-call support for all aspects of database architecture, database platforms, and database management software * Works with original equipment manufacturers and/or third-party vendors to resolve performance degradations and outages * Supports and participates in projects relating to the move of systems and services to modernized hosting environments and Cloud capabilities * Provides expert advice on configuring database systems to meet the environment and boundary requirements * Customizes services to meet new performance goals * Installs, configures, maintains, and optimizes Oracle database systems to ensure high performance, security, and availability * Designs and implements database schemas, monitors database health, and performs routine backups and recovery operations to safeguard mission-critical data * Troubleshoots database-related issues, manages user access and permissions, and optimizes queries to enhance system performance * Ensures compliance with organizational policies and industry standards while staying current on updates, patches, and advancements in Oracle technologies Required Qualifications/Education and Experience: * Must have an active Top Secret Security Clearance with SCI eligibility * Possesses a B.S. in a related field and 10+ years of database administration experience including experience with Oracle databases * Must be DoD 8140 certified at the IAT-I A+ or CND or Network+ Certification * Proficiency in managing a diverse range of databases, including Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, Azure SQL, and Azure Data Factory * Ability to translate customer requirements into database structure * Strong grasp of advanced database security practices * Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills * Experience building and maintaining Content Management Platforms * Familiarity with PostgreSQL, MySQL, Synapse Analytics, Azure Cache for Redis, Azure Table Storage, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and jQuery * Mastery of scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Python) for automation * Experience with creating and formulating workflows Preferred Qualifications/Education and Experience. * ITIL v4 Certification ABBTECH is an EOE/Minorities/Women/Disabled Individuals/Veterans
