Overview

MasTec Clean Energy and Infrastructure is seeking a Director of Strategic Accounts, Data Centers  for our rapidly growing Data Center practice to identify, secure and grow relationships at key accounts nationally, attain business and sales plan objectives, and drive strategic growth. The successful candidate will be responsible for working directly with clients as well as internally among multiple MasTec service lines to drive profit and market share in the data center construction space.

This position can be remote within the United States with up to 30% travel required.

Responsibilities
  • Build and expand relationships with strategic Data Center clients.
  • Lead account planning and develop executive-level engagement strategies.
  • Drive sales growth by identifying and prioritizing opportunities.
  • Monitor market trends and competitor activity to inform strategy.
  • Collaborate across teams to deliver tailored solutions to clients.
  • Manage pipeline and forecast sales performance accurately.
  • Ensure high customer satisfaction and retention.
  • Represent the full range of MasTec data center offerings.
  • Leverage existing relationships with key data center clients, including developers, hyper scalers, and construction managers.
  • Stay informed of competitor intelligence and emerging market trends.
  • Strengthen external positioning across proposals, qualifications, digital platforms, and client-facing materials.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to leadership on pursuit priorities, resource allocation, and competitive positioning.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with targeted high-value prospects/existing accounts nationally.
  • Act as the interface between new customers and all relevant internal divisions including business development, estimating, and operations to ensure timely and successful close of new business deals and the related successful delivery.
  • Ensures prospect/forecasting database (Salesforce) is accurate and up to date.
  • Analyze market statistics, trends and customer and competitor actions to determine impact MasTec’s ability to meet objectives.
  • Participate in industry meetings, seminars and trade shows and assist in establishing the plan for the Company's participation and actions. Supports and assists other MasTec service lines as needed in the mission critical space.
  • Other duties as requested by the Vice President of Pursuits and Business Development.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, business, or related field or equivalent experience 
  • 8+ years of construction or engineering experience
  • Strong preference for previous experience in a client-facing role
  • Proven experience working with clients, general builders, and/or developers in the Data Center market.
  • Established network of clients, general builders, and/or developers in the Data Center market.
  • Willingness to travel up to 30%.
  • Excellent communication and planning abilities.

  • Proven interpersonal, as well as written and verbal communication skills, including leading and speaking in large meetings.
  • Excellent organizational and team leadership skills.
  • Experience in organizational training, development, and change management a plus.
