TITLE: Development Manager (Mid-Level & Monthly Giving)
CLASSIFICATION: Full-time/Exempt/Benefit Eligible
SUPERVISOR: Director of Individual Giving
ORGANIZATIONAL SUMMARY: The Food Bank for Central & Northeast Missouri is a regional disaster and hunger-relief network that brings together community resources to share tens of millions of pounds of food with neighbors each year. Our highly collaborative team believes that empowerment, education and partnerships are key to getting food into the hands of those who need it most. With the help of 145 partner agencies, nearly 200 school partners and more than ten thousand volunteers, our day-to-day efforts help feed nearly 100,000 neighbors each month across our 32-county area. JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Have a bachelor's degree or equivalent experience and education.
  • Be a self-starter and internally motivated
  • Have three to five years of fundraising and development experience.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in computer literacy; ability to quickly learn software and database programs.
  • Have experience in public speaking.
  • Have a valid driver's license and insurance (and obtain a Class E license to drive our fleet vehicles within 90 days of employment).
  • Be detail-oriented.
  • Be capable of lifting 50 pounds regularly.
  • Be able to prioritize and manage multiple projects.
  • Be flexible and adaptable to change.
  • Be able to work with a variety of people.
  • The ideal candidate will be able to work well independently and strategically, and be able to collaborate within a team environment
  • Be sensitive to the needs of low-income people

DUTIES:
  1. In partnership with the Director of Individual Giving and CDO, create and execute an individual monthly and mid-level giving program with an emphasis on increasing and retaining recurring donors and securing significantly more support at the levels of $1,000 - $4,999.
  2. Actively manage a portfolio of current and potential donors ($1,000 - $4,999), monthly donors, and passive major gift donors.
  3. Manages relationships and solicits gifts from mid-level donors leading to increased financial support.
  4. Documentation and Reporting: Document interactions in donor database. Work with Donor Relations Manager to create monthly dashboard report of mid-level and monthly giving.
  5. Through research and best practices, identify, cultivate and solicit individuals for general operating support, rooted in The Food Bank's case for support.
  6. Monitor and analyze portfolio performance to achieve annual goals.
  7. In conjunction with the Development team, prepare proposals, solicitation letters and stewardship reports.
  8. Collaborate with the Communication and Development team to thank and steward individual donors.
  9. Assist team with developing budget, goals and performance measures for building the monthly and mid-level gifts program and analyzing results.
  10. Perform other duties and participate in special projects as needed.
  11. Represent the department and The Food Bank to donors and the public through visits, written and phone communications.
