Summary

THIS IS PROPOSAL WORK CONTINGENT ON CONTRACT AWARD

Chenega Enterprise Systems & Solutions is seeking a results-driven, high-performing professional with 5 years’ experience who will primarily be responsible for the development, management, and oversight of software applications and database systems. Design, develop, test, implement, and support .NET-based applications while administering and optimizing database environments to ensure performance, security, reliability, and data integrity. Collaborates with stakeholders to analyze requirements, implement system enhancements, troubleshoot issues, and support the full software development lifecycle from design through deployment and sustainment to serve to serve as the Net Application Developer/Database Administrator for the U.S. Department of Transportation’s Office of the Secretary (OST), Working Capital Fund (WCF), Office of Facilities, Information, and Asset Management.

Work Location:

  • May be required to report onsite at the U.S. Department of Transportation’s Washington, DC Headquarters.
  • Must be available Monday through Friday, 8:00 am – 6:00 pm Eastern Standard Time except holidays, and for emergency exercises

Responsibilities
  • Collect data, analyze the collected information, design algorithms, draw flowcharts, and implement code for the logic developed through algorithms and flowcharts.
  • Develop appropriate database queries to retrieve data from the database.
  • Develop database structures, procedures, and triggers to support application and database functionality.
  • Address data security issues during the database development process.
  • Design Relational Database models and test the developed code with test data to ensure the code is error free. 
  • Correct errors identified during code execution and perform retesting to validate corrections.
  • Prepare and maintain reports covering the entire backend development lifecycle.
  • Work with the front-end development team to integrate front-end and database modules.
  • Support testing of integrated modules and resolve errors identified during integration testing.
  • Rework and modify database modules to correct issues when module integration is unsuccessful.
  • Conduct research on various factors affecting migration, including the data cleansing and implementation of new technologies and streamline data migration. 
  • Other duties as assigned

  • 5 years’ experience in database development, administration and support
  • Bachelor’s degree is Computer Science, Information Systems, Database Management, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in Oracle, PL/SQL, MS Access, and relational database management systems.
  • Experience designing database models, tables, queries, stored procedures, and triggers.
  • Knowledge of database security, data integrity, and performance optimization.
  • Experience with data migration, data cleansing, and validation.
  • Ability to troubleshoot, test, and resolve database issues.
  • Experience supporting system integration, testing, and deployment activities.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
