Reporting to the VP - Data Architecture, the Senior Database Engineer is a skilled individual with specialized expertise in Azure SQL Server. As a key member of Fay's technology team, the Senior Database Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining comprehensive database solutions to support our mission-critical financial systems and applications. The Senior Database Engineer's primary focus will be on Azure SQL Server, ensuring optimal performance, scalability, security, and reliability to meet the demanding and changing needs of our organization.
Qualifications Include:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. Master's degree preferred.
  • 7+ years of experience in database engineering, with a strong focus on Azure SQL Server within the financial services industry.
  • In-depth knowledge of Azure SQL Database features, including Elastic Pools, Managed Instances, and Hyperscale.
  • Proficiency in SQL query optimization, database performance tuning, and troubleshooting complex database issues.
  • Hands-on experience with database security principles, encryption techniques, and regulatory compliance standards.
  • Experience with database migration projects, including on-premises to Azure SQL Database migrations.
  • Strong understanding of cloud computing concepts, including Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) and Platform as a Service (PaaS) offerings.
  • Certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate or similar credentials are a plus.
