The Opportunity:
Your combination of people skills and technical knowledge makes you the team hero, solving one problem after another. As a database administrator who specializes in SQL databases, you know how to manage and secure database technology. At Booz Allen, you can use those skills to improve the database technology supporting public health.
On our team, you'll build and maintain database systems, look for ways to implement database tuning and performance optimization, and design and develop databases, queries, and other solutions to support a large and collaborative software development team. You'll provide your client with peace of mind as you implement policies and procedures to ensure the security and integrity of the database. You'll use technology and tools like SQL Server to identify problem areas and opportunities for improvement in a mission-critical database.
In this role, you'll closely impact the public health and scientific mission by improving the function and performance of public health data systems, and making it easier for users to share data and create reports. With your technical experience, mentoring, and opportunities to learn new tools and skills, we'll focus on growing as a team to make the best solutions for our customers. This position is located in Atlanta, GA.

You Have:
  • 8+ years of experience with SQL-based database development, building, maintaining, and administering database systems using SQL Server 2012 to 2019, writing scripts and stored procedures, and building complex views
  • 2+ years of experience working in PostgreSQL
  • Experience assisting with software releases and working collaboratively with business analysts and application developers
  • Experience designing and implementing end-to-end data solutions leveraging Azure services, including Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, Azure SQL Database, and Azure Synapse Analytics
  • Experience in data warehousing, data analysis, and data reporting
  • Experience documenting technical designs, procedures, and guidelines for data engineering processes
  • Knowledge of conducting performance tuning and optimization of SQL queries and data processing workflows
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust or Suitability/Fitness determination based on client requirements
  • HS diploma or GED

  • Experience supporting data visualization through Power BI
  • Ability to collaborate with data scientists and analysts to deploy machine learning models and enable advanced analytics on Azure

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $86,800.00 to $198,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen's total compensation package for employees.
