Summary of Job Duties:The Database Specialist reports to the Sr Director, Strategic Sourcing, supporting department and organizational Supply Chain related data analytics project and initiatives.
Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration or related field plus three years of relevant experience or associate's degree plus five years of relevant experience or High School Diploma plus seven years of relevant experience.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office products to include Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Visio.
  • Ability to analyze data and evaluate effectiveness of database systems.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and manage multiple projects/tasks.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Ability to sit and work on a computer for extended periods (up to eight hours), perform tasks normally associated with an administrative office environment and operate related office equipment.


Additional Information:

Responsibilities:
Develops and runs reports to identify, validate, document, report, track, and trend Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for department and division management using multiple UAMS vendor and other third-party databases, data analytic tools and industry best practices; integrates data from multiple internal and external sources.
Reviews and processes new item adds, vendor setup, miscellaneous payee or contract tasks, and reviews which includes but is not limited to bill-only transactions, stock changes, new item adds, new vendor adds, miscellaneous payee requests, contract updates, pricing corrections, etc.
Works with departmental managers to prepare reports and presentations as necessary to track, document, and report progress and performance, and to identify and resolve data discrepancies.
Supports Supply Chain and institutional initiatives as required and directed by leadership. These tasks may include, but are not limited to, cost impact analysis reports, market share analysis reports, vendor/product category spend validation reports, contract compliance reports, and clinical/operational procedure volume/cost reports.
Maintains, reviews, and audits data, identifying and correcting errors or adding detail to improve reporting.
Collaborates with vendors to ensure the procurement process is as accurate and efficient as possible.
Reviews and confirms the accuracy of documentation to assist in the training and on-boarding of peers.
Performs other duties as assigned.
