Responsibilities

This position supports the Benefits Specialist function by performing the following: Processing of 403b/401(k)), scholarship, student, retiree and LOA billings ,cash accumulation funds, excess liability and adoption reimbursement, pension processing, life insurance, and HSA. Respond, investigate and follow-up as needed to employee, supervisor and vendor inquiries. Enter HR system data, additional payments, deduction changes (403(b), 401(k),HSA catch up, reimbursement account corrections, premium deductions & premium refunds). Use and update HR Systems, benefit productivity tools and vendor databases. Analyze and maintain data integrity in pre-tax and after-tax benefit systems. Reconciliation and remittance of all vendor managed plans. Reconciliation of general ledger accounts and databases. Effectively communicate benefit plan policies and guidelines to employees and supervisors.

This is a hybrid position and must be located within 100 miles of the Mayo Clinic campus in Rochester, MN for occasional on-site expectations based on business needs.


Qualifications

The position requires an Associate Degree in business or accounting or 2 years experience relevant to employee benefits. Previous experience with reconciliation strongly preferred. Familiarity with a variety of computer system software (word processing, spreadsheet, relational database and report writers) is required. Candidates must possess a strong customer service orientation. Must be able to work effectively in a team-based and multi-tasking environment. Good organizational and time management skills are required. Must be detail oriented and able to work with accuracy, timeliness and effectiveness with problem solving skills. Must possess excellent math skills as well as an ability to analyze problems and determine appropriate solutions.

Preferred qualifications: 

Experience with reconciliations and general ledger along with advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel preferred.
