Description

The Senior Oracle Applications DBA's role is responsible for supporting Oracle E-business suite R 12.1/12.2 instances and other mission-critical Oracle systems.

The position is responsible for researching and troubleshooting application and database issues for the Oracle Applications teams, including SCM, ASCP, Finance, HRMS, and Order-to-Cash. Support extends to boundary systems such as WebLogic, OBIEE, OAM/OID, Demantra, Discoverer, and Informatica.

The DBA will partner with technical and business groups to ensure that database performance standards adhere to enterprise service level agreements. The ideal candidate will assist in all facets of infrastructure lifecycle management, perform administrative activities such as cloning, backup/restore, and patching, and ensure quality control and auditing of databases is accurate.

The DBA will also help develop the roadmap and migration of workloads to cloud platforms such as private/public, Oracle, Azure, and AWS cloud.

 Duties and responsibilities

  • Install, patches, upgrades, configures, tunes, and maintains the Oracle E-business Suite R12.1/12.2 and 19c Oracle databases.
  • Collaborate with system and network administrators.
  • Install system enhancements and assists in hardware, software, and data utilization analysis to ensure maximum efficiency.
  • Participate in the design, implementation and testing of the disaster recover procedures. Provides DBA support for custom application development efforts
  • Provide level 2 support (24x7) for the Production environment, which includes high-volume business-critical applications.
  • Write UNIX shell scripts. Clones R12 environments.
  • Establish and maintain Oracle ASM/RAC databases.
  • Tunes the Oracle E-business R12.1/12.2 application, the Oracle databases and PL/SQL code. Proactively identifies and corrects R12.1/12.2 performance problems and monitors space usage.
  • Analyze performance issues in the application, concurrent manager, and database tiers of E-Business Suite installations.
  • Assist developers with performance tuning. Responsible for capacity planning, database space management.
  • Responsible for the overall architecture, design, development, and support of all Oracle Application Technology Stack components including but not limited to Oracle 11g RAC, core Oracle Database, Oracle E-Business Suite R12.1/12.2, OID/OAM, OBIEE, Demantra, Discoverer, Middleware (WebLogic)
  • Experience in implementing and supporting Oracle ERP Applications
  • Ability to analyze and resolve challenging technical issues quickly in a high-pressure environment.
  • Support 3rd party applications like Informatica, Vertex, Noetix, iScramble etc.
  • Ensure the R 12.1/12.2 system is appropriately secured and periodically audits the security of the system.
  • Documents DBA processes. Prepares documentation for new and modified systems, environments, hardware, software, or databases.
  • Participate in on-call rotation providing 24X7 support.
  • Perform other tasks and functions as requested by our client.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 10 years IT experience, with the following specific experiences: Oracle E-business 12i administration, UNIX, PL/SQL coding, and Oracle database administration
  • Experience in running Oracle E-business 12i including activities like Patching, Cloning, Replication, System Administration, troubleshooting in HA and DR environments.
  • Good knowledge of Oracle database performance tuning skills
  • Experience in implementing Oracle Real Application Clusters and Oracle Data Guard for high availability, data protection, and disaster recovery.
  • Experience administering Oracle EBS Financials, Supply Chain, and HR/Payroll applications.
  • Experience administering Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition (OBIEE)
  • Experience administering systems in Unix/Linux and Windows environments.
  • Experience using Oracle Enterprise Manager and other tools for availability and performance monitoring.
  • Experience in Oracle database (RAC/ASM) upgrades to 19c.
  • Experience in the cloud "lift and shift" projects and migration of Oracle/SQL Server databases from On-Prem to Private/Public cloud
  • Excellent analytical, problem solving, interpersonal and communicational skills.
  • Must be able to work some weekends, nights, and holidays.

Preferred qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or equivalent.
