Summary: The Warehouse Supervisor oversees the daily activity of the warehouse crew and acts as lead crew member. The supervisor works as part of the crew, directing the methods of work, providing real-time training, and completing documentation as work is completed.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Supervise the work of assigned warehouse crew members
  • Assure that work is completed within safety policies and guidelines
  • Complete work in the order assigned by the Warehouse Manager
  • Train or re-train warehouse crew members in proper handling and safety techniques in real time
  • Advise the Warehouse Manager, Dispatcher, Operations Manager, Quality Trainer, and Safety Manager of additional training needed beyond the immediate work need
  • Oversee the physical handling of goods by the warehouse crew, including wrapping, padding, stacking, unstacking, and containerization of goods and product, loading and unloading of vehicles and containers, and the movement of goods within the facility by material handling equipment.
  • Assure that material handling equipment is used only by trained crew, or by certified operators if required
  • Complete documentation necessary for each order, such as inventory control forms, pick lists, inventory exception sheets, vault inventory "bingo" sheets, receiving reports, locator forms or electronic locator entries, and shipping documents

Education/Experience:

One year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Ability:

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

Math Ability:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

Computer Skills:

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Office, ability to learn and effectively use move management software, warehouse management software, timekeeping and other software applications used in the daily performance of job duties.
