Job Summary:

The Senior Data Engineer will design, build, and maintain scalable data architecture and data integration solutions to support clinical and operational initiatives, ensuring high data quality and accessibility.
Responsibilities:
• Leads the design of and develops and maintains scalable data pipelines and ETL/ELT processes to integrate data from internal and external systems.
• Builds and optimizes Enterprise Data Warehouse structures to support analytics, reporting, and operational workflows.
• Implements and maintains data models (dimensional and relational) to ensure efficient and accurate reporting.
• Evaluates and recommends improvements to data architecture, storage, and processing performance.
• Establishes and enforces data quality standards, validation processes, and monitoring to ensure data integrity and reliability.
• Leads development of data governance practices, including data definitions, metadata management, and data lineage documentation.
• Ensures compliance with healthcare data standards and regulations related to security and privacy.
• Develops and maintains integrations using healthcare data standards and formats including HL7, FHIR, APIs, SFTP, and flat files.
• Collaborates with clinical and operational teams to ensure accurate and timely data exchange across systems.
• Partners with analysts, clinical leaders, and business stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
• Provides technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members and peers.
• Participates in cross-functional initiatives to support organizational goals and strategic priorities.
• Monitors and optimizes performance of data pipelines, queries, and warehouse environments.
• Identifies and resolves data issues, bottlenecks, and system inefficiencies.
• Stays current with emerging data engineering tools, technologies, and best practices and recommends and drives adoption where appropriate.
• Maintains comprehensive documentation including data dictionaries, pipeline documentation, and technical design artifacts.
• Communicates technical concepts, risks, and solutions clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
