Summary:
We are seeking a talented, cleared Data Visualization & Analytics Software Engineer to modernize and enhance mission-critical applications supporting enterprise cybersecurity services within a classified environment. This role focuses on transforming complex operational data into intuitive visualizations, dashboards, and analytics that provide near real-time insight into mission health, availability, utilization, and performance.
The successful candidate will play a key role in transitioning existing static data resourced from at-rest databases into a modern web-based solution while designing secure, user-focused interfaces that enable operators and engineers to quickly interpret operational metrics and make informed decisions. Working within an established, highly collaborative team, this position offers the opportunity to directly support national security missions through modern software engineering, exploratory data analysis, and visualization technologies.
The ideal candidate is equally comfortable developing full-stack applications, analyzing operational data, and collaborating with mission stakeholders to translate complex technical information into meaningful visual insights.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop modern software applications that transform operational cybersecurity data into intuitive visualizations and actionable mission insights.
  • Develop dashboards providing near real-time visibility into system health, service availability, utilization, performance, and operational readiness.
  • Perform exploratory analysis of operational and mission data to identify trends, anomalies, performance bottlenecks, and opportunities for improved situational awareness.
  • Execute UX/UI development workflows from wireframes through high-fidelity prototypes, emphasizing usability and mission effectiveness.
  • Apply human-centered design principles to improve operator experience and enhance decision-making through effective visualization of complex technical data.
  • Collaborate with software engineers and mission stakeholders to customize Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) components supporting secure application functionality.
  • Modernize legacy desktop applications by developing scalable, secure web-based solutions utilizing contemporary software development frameworks.
  • Participate throughout the software development lifecycle, including requirements analysis, prototyping, implementation, testing, automation, deployment, and sustainment.
  • Write and maintain technical documentation supporting software architecture, design decisions, implementation details, and operational procedures.
  • Identify opportunities to improve application usability, maintainability, and performance while reducing technical debt.
  • Work independently on complex technical challenges while actively collaborating within an Agile development team.

Qualifications
Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, Data Science, or another technical discipline from an accredited college or university is required
  • Additional four (4) years of relevant experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degree

Experience:
  • 8+ years of experience developing operational dashboards, visualization platforms, or analytical user interfaces
  • Experience developing modern web applications using Java and JavaScript technologies
  • Experience translating complex technical or operational data into intuitive visualizations supporting decision-makers
  • Experience working within Agile software development environments
