WHAT YOU WILL DO EVERYDAY

The Business Intelligence Reporting Specialist develops, maintains, and supports reports, dashboards, and data visualizations that deliver actionable insights across the credit union. Working from established business requirements and governed data sources, this role translates data into accurate, user-friendly reporting solutions that support decision-making, promote self-service analytics, and align with data governance standards.

HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT
  • Develop, maintain, and enhance Power BI reports, dashboards, scorecards, and related reporting solutions using approved semantic models, curated datasets, and governed data sources.
  • Translate documented business requirements into accurate, user-friendly visualizations and reporting solutions that support operational visibility and business decision-making.
  • Validate report outputs, perform testing, troubleshoot reporting issues, and support ongoing maintenance to ensure data accuracy, usability, and report performance.
  • Apply data visualization and dashboard design best practices to improve report usability, stakeholder adoption, and effective use of business insights.
  • Collaborate with Data & Analytics team members, Data Analysts, and business stakeholders to clarify reporting needs, validate outputs, and support report enhancements.
  • Support alignment with established KPI definitions, data governance standards, reporting standards, and dashboard governance practices.
  • Support the Business Intelligence Analyst in the governance, documentation, and administration of business intelligence platforms and standard reports.
  • Participate in Ascend's Data Stewardship program by providing reporting support, guidance, and user assistance as needed.
  • Develop and deliver training to help business users understand and effectively use reports, BI tools, dashboards, and other data resources.
  • Provide ongoing support and guidance to users in interpreting reports and dashboards and promote self-service analytics to foster a data-driven culture across departments.
  • Read all internal publications, including HUB and Possibilities Newsletter
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO SUCCEED

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Data Analytics, Business Intelligence, or a related field. Will consider equivalent combination of education and experience. is required

Work Experience

  • 1-3 years experience developing reports, dashboards, or data visualizations in Power BI or a similar business intelligence platform, preferably within a financial institution is required and
  • 1-3 years experience validating data accuracy and troubleshooting reporting issues, preferably within a financial institution is required and
  • Experience with Microsoft Fabric, Power BI Service, or cloud-based BI/reporting environments is preferred and
  • Experience supporting report users, developing user guidance, or providing training on BI tools and reporting solutions is preferred

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Working knowledge of SQL, relational database concepts, and data validation practices.
  • Strong understanding of data visualization and dashboard design principles.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to connect reporting insights to business needs and outcomes.
  • Good communication and stakeholder engagement skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Possession of a valid, unrestricted driver's license.
  • Regular and reliable attendance is required.
