General Summary:

Conducts in-depth data analysis with a using a cross functional knowledge of: merchandising, supply chain, and retail operations to identify areas of opportunity to mitigate product shrink and damages. Synthesizes root cause analysis to provide insights and actional recommendations and influence assortment decisions. Leads special projects and activities to minimize shrink and damage risk in our stores to help the company receive its financial goals.


Job Details

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Provides critical insights and recommendations throughout reset planning process, influencing assortment decisions to minimize shrink and damages.
  • Drives special projects or activities requiring integration between Merchandising, Global Inventory, and Store Operations, and CPG vendors.
  • Proactively identifies shrink and damage risk using leading indicators, taking action with cross functional partners to mitigate financial impact.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs):

  • Demonstrated ability to turn data into insights and recommendations, ‘telling the story’ to stakeholders and influencing decisions.
  • Understanding of data visualization and design principles, communicating data dense information in a digestible way.
  • Understanding of most merchandising, retail operations, and supply chain concepts.
  • Ability to prioritize projects based on solution impact, time to implement, and/or direction from leadership.
  • Ability to turn ad hoc analysis into repeatable/scalable templates.
  • Ability to create and lead group cross-functional problem solving discussions and executive presentations.
  • Intermediate to advanced query skills in 1010data.
  • High-level written and verbal communication skills.
  • Advanced level of proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite applications.
  • Experience with dashboarding tools like PowerBI a plus.
  • Experience with programming languages like SQL and python a plus.

Qualifications

Work Experience &/or Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s in related field preferred (Business, Economics, Data Science, Engineering).
  • 4 – 6 yrs relevant professional experience in analytics and data science, retail merchandising, financial planning and analysis, asset protection, operations, required.
