Job description

Our Gen AI Experience Engineering team is at the forefront of integrating AI capabilities across the Adobe Experience Cloud. We operate with a startup mentality, focusing on rapid delivery of value while building scalable solutions through an iterative approach.
The Opportunity
Are you passionate about building engaging experiences that help users understand and interact with data? We are looking for a UI Engineer with deep expertise in data visualization creation to help build next-generation AI Assistant experiences built upon the Adobe Experience Platform. Working with product managers, architects, and designers, you will develop innovative visualization experiences that bring our AI insights to life.
Impact you'll make
You thrive when delivering visual experiences that make complex information clear, intuitive, and actionable. You understand the why behind visualization choices-not just how to build them-and can push beyond mundane chart types to craft meaningful, creative, and accessible visualizations. In this role, you will shape how our AI Assistant communicates insights, helping thousands of developers create visualization experiences across Adobe Experience Cloud. Our aim is high: we will change how customers understand their data and reveal insights they never thought were possible.
Main responsibilities
  • Deliver best-in-class, responsive, and scalable visualization experiences for mass audiences
  • Architect and implement visualizations using React, SVG, and modern data-viz frameworks
  • Grow and extend our React Spectrum Charts ecosystem by creating new visualization components and patterns
  • Apply core principles of visual encoding, data semantics, and perceptual design to ensure clarity and meaning
  • Integrate UI and visualization layers with REST APIs; parse and transform JSON to shape data for visual consumption
  • Use D3, SVG, and (optionally) Canvas to build custom charts and graphical representations beyond standard forms
  • Design, develop, test, deploy, and monitor visualization features with a focus on performance and accessibility
  • Ensure accessibility of visualization experiences-including ARIA patterns for charts, keyboard navigation, and color-safe design
  • Drive efforts to improve technical quality through code reviews, architecture reviews, and testing strategy
  • Collaborate closely with designers and data partners to ensure visualizations are purposeful, accurate, and expressive

Qualifications
  • 4+ years of professional experience building highly performant and sophisticated web applications with data visualizations
  • Expert-level proficiency in JavaScript, React, and front-end engineering principles
  • Strong experience with SVG and visualization-driven engineering (D3 required; Canvas nice to have)
  • Deep understanding of data-visualization concepts such as visual encoding, data types, and choosing the right chart for the data
  • Experience with React Spectrum Charts or comparable visualization frameworks
  • Practical understanding of light statistics, including distributions, trends, correlation, and outlier detection
  • Strong experience with preparing and transforming data for visualization
  • Expertise in responsive web design and front-end performance optimization
  • Experience with testing frameworks such as Jest and Cypress
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with English proficiency
  • Passion for building meaningful user experiences; crafting thoughtful visual communication is second nature
  • Familiarity with AI/ML concepts and how they inform or generate visualization content

Nice to Have
  • Experience designing or extending charting libraries or visualization systems
  • Experience with GraphQL, or writing RESTful APIs
  • Knowledge of load optimization, cloud deployment strategies, and CI/CD pipelines
  • Full-stack engineering experience
  • Experience with real-time visualization or interactive data exploration interfaces
