Job Description
You will be responsible for designing, creating, and managing an organization's data architecture. This role is critical in enhancing a solid foundation for data management at NW Natural, ensuring that data is organized, accessible, secure, and aligned with business objectives.
You will also provide technical leadership and guidance to the data management team and other stakeholders on best practices, standards, and architectures for data systems, data integration, and data storage solutions.
You will collaborate with other Data Architects, Enterprise Architects, Solution Architects, Business Analysts, Project Managers, and Developers to ensure the data architecture solutions are aligned with the enterprise architecture vision and principles.
Responsibilities
  • Interprets and delivers impactful strategic plans improving data integration, data quality, and data delivery in support of business initiatives and roadmaps.
  • Work with enterprise architects and IT&S team members to analyze business requirements and develop data architecture strategies.
  • Define standards and guidelines for data modeling, data integration, and data quality management.
  • Develop and implement data models for operational and analytical systems to maximize the efficiency and effectiveness of data assets.
  • Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of data solutions, including data warehouses, data lakes, and data marts.
  • Develop strategies for data governance, data security, and data privacy compliance.
  • Analyze current data systems to identify deficiencies and recommend improvements.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders, project teams, and IT staff to ensure the alignment of data architecture with business objectives.
  • Provide guidance and leadership in data-related technologies, trends, and methodologies.
  • Document data architecture designs, decisions, and processes comprehensively.
  • Ensure compliance with enterprise data architecture standards and policies.

Requirements
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • At least five years of relevant experience in design and implementation of data models for enterprise data warehouse initiatives
  • Experience leading projects involving data warehousing, data modeling, and data analysis
  • Design experience in Proficiency in Azure Fabric Synapse, Informatica and PowerBI
  • Knowledge of data governance, data quality management, and data security best practices.
  • Experience with ETL processes and tools.
  • Experience with data visualization tools such as Power BI, or similar.
