Job description

Senior Systems Administrator

Tucson, AZ

Company Overview

Ondas Holdings Inc (NASDAQ:ONDS) is building a new kind of intelligence company, one designed for a world where speed, autonomy, and decision advantage matter more than ever. By combining multi-domain platforms, advanced sensing, secure networks, and AI-enabled analytics, Ondas helps defense, government, and critical infrastructure customers transform complex mission data into decision-ready insights when and where they matter most.

Ondas Sentinel is Ondas’ U.S.based defense division, purpose-built to deliver U.S.made, U.S. delivered capabilities for the Department of Defense and allied ministries of defense. The division brings together advanced autonomous systems, mission technologies, and intelligence solutions that help customers create persistent awareness, operate with confidence, and make faster decisions in complex and contested environments.

The Stratospheric ISR business unit within Ondas Sentinel is focused on one of the most unique mission areas in aerospace and defense: manufacturing and operating high-altitude stratospheric balloon systems. Few companies in the world can do this work at operational scale. That means our teams are not simply maintaining existing systems; they are building new capabilities, solving first-of-their-kind challenges, and helping define what persistent.

Job Description

The Senior Systems Administrator serves as a senior technical leader within the IT Infrastructure team. This role is responsible for the design, administration, security, and reliability of core enterprise systems, including on-premises and cloud infrastructure, identity and access management platforms, endpoint management solutions, and backup and recovery services.

This is a hands-on technical role, not a people-management position. The Senior Systems Administrator works closely with Infrastructure, Security, Network, and Application teams to ensure systems remain secure, scalable, resilient, and aligned with business objectives.

The role operates within a regulated environment and supports compliance initiatives through effective system administration, security controls, documentation, and operational excellence. This role is based on-site in Tucson, Arizona and requires regular engagement with IT, Security, Infrastructure, Network, Application, and business teams. Travel may be required to support other company locations, vendors, audits, or operational readiness activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Administer and maintain core infrastructure platforms, including Windows Server, virtualization environments, storage systems, and backup solutions.
  • Manage and secure Microsoft 365 and Microsoft Entra ID, including identity lifecycle management, Conditional Access, MFA, and privileged access controls.
  • Deploy, manage, and harden endpoint environments using Microsoft Intune, Group Policy, and endpoint security solutions.
  • Design, implement, and maintain backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity capabilities; regularly test and validate recovery procedures.
  • Perform system patching, vulnerability remediation, and security hardening across server and endpoint environments.
  • Support system-level incident response, containment, recovery, and post-incident remediation activities.
  • Develop and maintain system documentation, runbooks, diagrams, configuration standards, and asset inventories.
  • Lead infrastructure modernization initiatives, including cloud adoption, platform upgrades, and technology lifecycle management.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior administrators and support personnel.
  • Collaborate with vendors and managed service providers to support operational and project-related objectives.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in systems administration, infrastructure engineering, or a related technical discipline.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Windows Server administration, Microsoft 365 and Microsoft Entra ID, Active Directory and Group Policy, identity and access management, and backup and disaster recovery solutions.
  • Experience implementing least-privilege access models, privileged account management, and secure system configurations.
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex infrastructure issues across multiple technologies.
  • Strong documentation, organizational, and operational discipline.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • U.S. Citizenship required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting regulated, government, aerospace, defense, or security-focused environments.
  • Familiarity with infrastructure controls supporting NIST 800-171, CMMC, DFARS, SOX, or similar compliance frameworks.
  • Experience with Conditional Access, Privileged Identity Management, Just-in-Time access, and identity governance solutions.
  • Experience managing hybrid environments spanning on-premises and Microsoft Azure workloads.
  • Experience supporting incident response, forensic preservation, and recovery operations.
  • PowerShell scripting and infrastructure automation experience.
  • Microsoft certifications such as Azure Administrator, Microsoft 365 Administrator, Security Administrator, or related credentials.
  • Experience with virtualization platforms such as VMware or Hyper-V.
