Description

Daily duties of the RLT include:

  • Establish and maintain a professional and therapeutic relationship with the client, which includes the client's parents and/or guardiansย 
  • Ensure the safety of the client
  • Collect data, as previously determined by the LBAย 
  • Implementation of behavioral programs, as outlined by the LBAย 
  • Communication with the client's parents and/or guardians and LBA about daily performanceย 
  • Demonstrate understanding of basic ABA principles
  • Maintain clean and tidy environment for the client (e.g., cleaning up work area, assisting in picking up group activity materials)
  • Arrive at least 15 minutes early prior to appointment to prepare for client arrival (e.g., gather materials, get activities and preferred toys)ย 
  • Work as a team with fellow RLTs and LBAsย 
  • Follow ethical guidelines outline by BACB and LBAB. Maintain client confidentiality and follow all HIPAA guidelines
  • Maintain a professional appearance (e.g., work appropriate grooming and adherence to dress code)ย 
  • Maintain a positive, enthusiastic, and compassionate demeanorย 


Requirements

As a Registered Line Technician, the RLT will work under the direct supervision of a Licensed Behavior Analyst. The RLT will provide one-on-one behavioral therapy, Applied Behavior Analysis, to children with Autism Spectrum Disorder. The RLT is responsible for the daily implementation of ABA to the client, as designed by the supervising LBA. The RLT must behave in accordance with the ethical guidelines outlined by the BACB (Behavior Analyst Certification Board) at all times. All RLTs must be at least 18 years of age, possess minimum educational level of a high school diploma, and must be able to pass a criminal background check. Annual completion of HIPAA, Ethics, workplace safety, and cultural competence training required.ย 


RLT PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be able to sit on floor and ground and move easily in this capacityย 
  • Must be able to lift small children, up to 30 poundsย 
  • Must be able to teach and assist with toileting skillsย 
  • Must be able to perform the following gross motor activities easily:ย 
  • Climbing (e.g., upon playground equipment)
  • Bending over, kneeling, crawling (e.g., to assist child with table/floor activities)
  • Squatting (e.g., to assist child putting on shoes)
  • Running (e.g., running alongside a child)
  • Carrying (e.g., teaching materials, toys, art supplies)
  • Sitting on floor (e.g., circle time activities, playing games)
  • Quick motor movements (e.g., in accordance with behavior plan)
  • Must be able to perform the following fine motor activities easily:ย 
  • Manipulation of teaching materialsย 
  • Assisting with children's art projects (e.g. cutting, gluing)ย 
  • Writing data
  • Typing on keyboard/ipad or tablet device
  • Must be physically present at the assigned job location, which may include home, school, and community placementsย 
  • Must be able to receive and give detailed information through oral communicationย 
  • Must have visual acuity to read and comprehend written communication through computer, electronic devices, and paper meansย
