CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure documentation packages, testing records, pathway validations, and turnover deliverables are properly organized and archived
  • Copper and fiber cable patching (LC, SC, MPO/MTP connectors)
  • Hardware component swap-outs: drives (HDD/SSD), power supplies (PSUs), DIMMs, fans
  • Rack and stack of servers, switches, and PDUs per rack elevation diagrams
  • Basic troubleshooting using runbook decision trees
  • Power whip installation and verification
  • Console cable connections and serial port access for remote teams
  • Physical port identification and tone/trace for copper circuits
  • Inventory management and equipment staging
  • Photo documentation of pre/post work state

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Basic understanding of server hardware, storage systems, and networking equipment.
  • Knowledge of structured copper and fiber optic cabling installation and management.
  • Familiarity with rack-and-stack procedures for servers, switches, routers, and storage devices.
  • Basic knowledge of TCP/IP networking concepts, including IP addressing and connectivity troubleshooting.
  • Ability to perform hardware installations, upgrades, replacements, and decommissioning.
  • Understanding data center infrastructure, including racks, PDUs, UPS systems, and cooling systems.
