 OVERALL EXPERIENCE:

Job Summary

·         We are seeking an experienced SQL Developer with strong SQL Server and data migration expertise to support investment banking and financial data initiatives. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience working with large, complex financial datasets and a solid understanding of financial data, asset classes, valuations, and investment products.

·         Experience with Financial Valuations Data is highly preferred. Candidates with broader investment banking, capital markets, asset management, wealth management, or financial services experience will also be considered.

·         The role will involve developing and optimizing SQL-based solutions, supporting data migration and transformation initiatives, developing stored procedures, and working with Microsoft BI technologies including SSIS, SSRS, and SQL Server BI. Tableau experience is a plus.

Key Responsibilities

·         Design, develop, test, and maintain complex SQL solutions using Microsoft SQL Server.

·         Develop and optimize complex T-SQL queries, stored procedures, functions, views, and triggers.

·         Support large-scale data migration, data conversion, and data transformation initiatives.

·         Analyze source and target data structures and develop effective ETL/data migration strategies.

·         Perform data mapping, validation, reconciliation, cleansing, and quality checks.

·         Work with financial datasets related to investment products, securities, valuations, and asset classes.

·         Understand and analyze financial data structures, relationships, calculations, and business rules.

·         Develop and maintain SSIS packages for ETL and data integration.

·         Develop and maintain SSRS reports and reporting solutions.

·         Support SQL Server Business Intelligence environments and enterprise reporting.

·         Troubleshoot data issues, performance problems, ETL failures, and production defects.

·         Perform SQL query optimization, indexing, performance tuning, and database troubleshooting.

·         Collaborate with Business Analysts, Data Analysts, Financial Analysts, Developers, QA teams, and investment/financial subject-matter experts.

·         Translate financial and business requirements into scalable database and data solutions.

·         Participate in data reconciliation and validation to ensure accuracy and completeness of migrated financial data.

·         Support development and maintenance of financial reporting and analytics solutions.

·         Document technical specifications, data mappings, transformation rules, and database processes.

 

 

Required Skills

SQL Server / Database Development

  • Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft SQL Server.
  • Advanced T-SQL development skills.
  • Experience troubleshooting complex SQL and database issues.

Data Migration

  • Strong experience with data migration and data conversion projects.
  • Experience analyzing source-to-target data mappings.
  • Experience with data transformation, cleansing, validation, reconciliation, and quality controls.
  • Ability to work with large volumes of structured financial data.
  • Experience identifying and resolving data discrepancies during migration.

Financial / Investment Domain

  • Strong understanding of financial data is required.
  • Understanding of asset classes such as:
    • Equities
    • Fixed Income / Bonds
    • Derivatives
    • Mutual Funds
    • ETFs
    • Cash / Money Market
    • Alternative Investments
    • Structured Products
  • Understanding of financial instruments, securities, portfolios, transactions, positions, and market data.
  • Financial Valuations Data experience is a huge plus.
  • Investment banking, capital markets, asset management, wealth management, or other financial-services experience is highly desirable.

Microsoft BI / ETL

  • Strong experience with SSIS for ETL and data integration.
  • Experience with SSRS for reporting.
  • Experience with SQL Server Business Intelligence / BI environments.
  • Understanding of ETL architecture, data warehouses, and dimensional data models.

Ideal Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will be a strong SQL Server Developer who also understands financial data.

The strongest candidates will have:

SQL Server + Data Migration + Financial Data + Asset Classes + Financial Valuations + SSIS/SSRS/BI

Financial Valuations Data experience should be considered a major differentiator, while candidates without direct valuations experience may still qualify if they have strong investment banking, capital markets, asset management, or broader financial-services experience.

Education

  • Bachelor''s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Finance, Business, or a related field preferred.
  • Equivalent professional experience may be considered.
