Job description

Top Three Skills:
1) experience with Longitudinal data warehouse (LSD)
2) CEDS experience - educational standard - new to the industry. CEDS is relatively new and CEPI might be disappointed but I think we can live with that. Educational data would be a big plus and Ed-Fi or EDFI or any other abbreviation of that would probably be the next most important thing behind CEDS. CEDS experience would have been the best case scenario, but if they don't have that the client can live with it.
3) SQL architecture - dimensional fact tables and data marts, star schema
Client is looking for a Data Architect that has a strong background with SQL, as well as basic knowledge of CEDS (education standards) and ED-Fi (educational financial knowledge). Currently there is nobody in this role, they will be doing architecture and not development work. It is not easy to pull reports out of the data warehouse at this point. They need to understand CEDS (Common Education Data Standards) because CEOI is trying to make this a standard for all depart of educations across the country. The main activity would be designing an DB architecture that would feed the CEDS DB model. The data needs seem to be growing exponentially and so is the reporting needs/requirements. The current DWH is not easy for our reporting team to create reports from so they are constantly looking for standalone files they can report from that are flattened. Is there a better way to do this - the role would be to define the better way.
