DEPARTMENT OVERVIEW

Our Associate Programs offer new graduates the opportunity to work in one of TD's many lines of business, and the chance to work on challenging projects and assignments, alongside experienced colleagues, and receive coaching and mentorship from business leaders and the Early Talent Experience team, to set you up for success in your career at TD.

Associate Role Profile: Our Associates are full-time employees participating in an 18-month rotational program (two nine-month rotations) to gain exposure and experience to opportunities and to a variety of business areas within the Analytics Insights & AI team in-depth experience, complemented by programming, coaching, tools and support.

As an Associate, you will also have access to programming, tools and a community of support for your pursuits and interests beyond the 9-5. This includes leadership talks, lunch and learns, self-development workshops, TD sponsored conferences, socials, team challenges, volunteer opportunities, career coaching and more. You will be part of a cohort along with other TD Associates from across Canada!

JOB DESCRIPTION

The AI2 Associate Program is an 18-month rotational program enhanced development opportunity in analytics and data. The Data Scientist Associate will perform a variety of activities, which may include:

  • Perform data queries and prepare data sets for analysis/modelling, including cleaning data and feature engineering

  • Analyze large data sets and identify trends and insights to inform business decisions; communicate findings to technical and non-technical audiences

  • Participate in projects supporting a broad range of data driven solutions by applying a variety of techniques to build out models. Work with structured and unstructured data and prepare data sets for machine learning through integration, cleaning, feature engineering, scaling and transforming data

  • Collaborate with team members and business partners to develop, test and deploy analytics solutions, for example: forecasting, optimization, or pricing models

  • Proactively identify business problems and opportunities where a data-driven solution would be appropriate and develop proposals / approaches

  • Collaborate with business partners to support the business case development process for analytics solutions

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be graduated between May 2025 and May 2027 with an Undergraduate degree in Business, Management, and/or Data Analytics or related.

  • Strong statistical and analytical skills and interest are necessary.

  • Experience with analyzing large data sets, drawing insights and inferences, and communicating outputs.

  • Experienced in one or more of:

  • Big Data - Programming, Data/Text Mining, Optimization, Algorithm Development, Automation, Data Visualization, Simulation

  • Machine Learning - Predictive Analytics, Regression, Logit Modeling, Discrete Choice, Propensity Modeling, Natural Language Processing.

  • Reading and comprehending data schemas, metadata, entity relationship diagrams and other technical documentation

  • Technical knowledge or experience with Cloud environments (MS Azure is a plus) as well as experience with Data Management.

  • Strong technical knowledge and experience with at least one of: Python, Spark/PySpark, SQL, R, Java, C/C++, Alteryx or Tableau

  • Must have strong leadership qualities including demonstrating initiative, establishing priorities and using strong communication, analytical and problem-solving skills to add value to each initiative, project or team assigned to.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication with the ability to work collaboratively and effectively in a team environment. Experience presenting in front of big crowds/senior leadership is a plus.

  • Able to participate as part of a team with targeted deliverables, working on initiatives designed to improve decisions, processes, systems, and applications which support our key businesses.

  • Experience with Data Management, Analytics, and Project Management is a plus.

  • Remain current with emerging trends and technologies in this field.
