Environmental Sustainability ManagerWe?re working with a nationwide, well-established manufacturing company seeking an Environmental Sustainability Manager. This role will lead environmental compliance and sustainability initiatives across two manufacturing facilities located in Hartford County and Upstate NY. This exciting opportunity offers the chance to make a significant impact by driving the company's environmental strategy, improving sustainability performance, and ensuring compliance with environmental regulations across both sites. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on, environmental professional passionate about sustainability and ready to make a measurable impact in a dynamic manufacturing environment. Location: Hartford County, CT (with travel to Upstate NY)Job Responsibilities:Lead and manage the Environmental Management System (EMS) across two manufacturing facilities.Develop and execute sustainability initiatives focused on reducing energy consumption, water usage, and waste.Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local environmental regulations.Monitor environmental KPIs, analyze performance data, and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.Evaluate manufacturing utility systems including steam, refrigeration, compressed air, and CIP systems to improve efficiency and sustainability.Partner with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, Sanitation, and Plant Leadership to implement environmental initiatives and drive measurable results.Develop environmental procedures, tools, and training to strengthen environmental awareness and accountability across both facilities.Communicate environmental performance, project progress, and compliance updates to leadership and key stakeholders.Serve as the environmental subject matter expert while promoting a culture of sustainability and continuous improvement.Travel occassionallybetween both facilities.Required Skills/Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Management, Engineering, or a related technical field; equivalent experience considered.3+ years of environmental sustainability and environmental compliance experience within a manufacturing environment.Experience leading Environmental Management Systems (EMS) and sustainability initiatives focused on energy, water, and waste reduction.Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local environmental regulations.Experience evaluating manufacturing utility systems including steam, refrigeration, compressed air, water, and CIP systems.Strong analytical skills with experience measuring project performance, tracking KPIs, and identifying cost savings opportunities.Hands-on, self-motivated leader who can work independently and build strong relationships across multiple manufacturing teams.Excellent project management, communication, and presentation skills.ISO 14001/50001 knowledge, Certified Energy Manager (CEM) or similar certifications, and experience with EPA Energy Star or DOE Better Plants programs are preferred.
