Job Summary

The Analyst will assess the quality of data submitted by healthcare payers and will evaluate the quality of data after it has been processed, enhanced, and loaded into the CO APCD. This position supports the Data Quality team in identifying best practices to ensure claims data in the CO APCD is complete, accurate, well-documented, and capable of satisfying a variety of existing and innovative use cases. The Data Quality Analyst helps identify opportunities to develop new data management and analytics capabilities to better serve CIVHC stakeholders.

Success in this role will be measured according to the quality, completeness, and usability of CIVHC administered data.

Hybrid Work Model

This position is based in Denver, Colorado. Because CIVHC operates under a hybrid work model with a requirement of at least one in-office day per week (unless otherwise approved), candidates must reside within a commutable distance to the Denver metro area.

Limited relocation assistance may be available for out-of-state candidates who intend to relocate to the Denver area.

Technical Skills:

  • SQL: Proficient with basic understanding of SELECT, FROM, WHERE, ORDER BY statements

Education & Experience

Degree Requirement:

  • Associate degree in healthcare informatics, data science, computer science, or related field
  • Alternative: 2+ years of claims data analysis experience can substitute for a degree

Professional Experience:

  • Experience in a health plan or managed care environment, focusing on claims, member, and provider data, decision support, or performance measurement, gained through internships, academic projects, or professional employment is welcomed
  • Experience analyzing commercial, Medicare, and/or Medicaid medical and prescription drug claims
  • Experience working with big data in an enterprise data warehouse environment
  • Knowledge of claim billing and processing with minimal supervision
  • Demonstrated ability to run queries and support QA
  • Must demonstrate strong critical thinking, dependable execution, and adherence to issue resolution guidelines.

Physical Requirements

Primarily computer-based work with extended periods of sitting, typing, and concentration. May occasionally require light lifting of office materials.

Compensation & Benefits

The salary range for this position is $68,000 - $78,000, based on experience, education, and internal equity.

In addition, this position may be eligible for an organization-wide bonus if certain metrics are met by CIVHC.
