Job description

JOB SUMMARY

PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Generate weekly summaries of non-conformance and defect data.
  • Learn and lead root-cause analysis processes to drive reduction of manufacturing non-conformances and defects
  • Support Quality Engineers and Test Engineers in daily activities.
  • Develop knowledge of quality and test engineering
  • Develop and build Quality into processes and operations
  • Administer part sales orders and develop part sales quotes
  • Review and determine action plan for transformer warranty issues

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Must have good communication skills – oral and written
  • Good computer skills, i.e. Microsoft Office Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with C++ or other computer coding language preferred
  • Basic understanding of manufacturing and engineering concepts
  • Ability to work independently or on a team

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Required Education / Experience

  • Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering – Sophomore or Junior standing
  • Must have completed courses in Engineering Fundamentals

Preferred Education / Experience

  • Previous work in a manufacturing environment
  • Prior experience managing/working-with small teams or projects


Key Working Relationships

Engineering Organization, including electrical, mechanical, controls, manufacturing and applications engineering groups. Operations Management, including plant Supervision, Quality, Planning, etc.


Physical Demands

Must be able to stand for extended periods of time.


Working Conditions

Primarily office environment plus time on shop floor, located on large manufacturing campus
