Job description

Delan Associates is seeking Quality Control Inspector candidates in the construction industry for anticipated projects in the Aiken, SC Area. Please send in your resume for consideration for future upcoming opportunities.

Location: Aiken, SC, US
Position Title: Quality Control Inspector
Job Duties:
Perform inspection on pressure boundary and non-pressure boundary components, assemblies and structural fabrications in accordance with the applicable code of construction and/or customer specifications. Such inspections shall include but not be limited to:

  • Dimensional inspections
  • Concrete inspections
  • Review of Material Test Reports
  • Receiving inspection
  • Weld Visual inspection
  • Positive material identification
  • Pressure Test Inspection
  • Follow and maintain Inspection and Test Plans or Travelers.
  • Verify American Concrete Institute (ACI) codes and specifications
  • Perform internal weld monitoring as required.
  • Perform Source Inspections, In-Process Inspections and Final Inspections
    Complete all associated documentation; Quality Control reports, sign-off on drawings, create as-built drawings, etc.
  • Establishes implements and maintains site quality program
  • Coordinates with engineers, suppliers, subcontractors, regulatory representatives and field to ensure that work is done correctly.
  • Assures work on-site meets applicable codes and specifications.
  • Develops and administers site specific Quality Programs.
  • Surveillance/Audits of site Contractor Quality Control Programs.
  • Establishes inspection plan and track inspections/actions identified.
  • Approves site testing such as soils testing, concrete placement and grout breaks, hydro tests, and NDE testing and verify tests are properly documented.
  • Reviews and controls documentation for the certification of construction equipment and testing equipment.
  • Reviews turnover packages prior to handoff to Startup.
  • Assists in the coordination of punch list walkdowns/inspections; establishes and manages the punch list.
  • Collating Quality Control documentation for final handover to Owner.
  • Interfaces with clients and government officials.
  • Develops and implements quality programs that assist projects and division to meet company and division quality goals and expectations.
  • May act as Quality Consultant for internal and external clients.
  • May act as temporary project fill-in for lower-level quality professionals.
  • Provides supervision, training, development, and performance management of direct reports.
  • Acts as mentor to other quality professionals.
  • Implements Safety, Quality, Ethical Standards, Lessons Learned, and adheres to Performance Management programs in accordance with Division Policies, Standards, and Guidelines.
  • Supports continuous improvement efforts and the change management effects associated with the implementation of improvements.
    Participate in the development and maintenance of a cost of quality tracking system
  • Tracking of nonconformance reports and corrective/preventative action requests

Qualifications:

Education:
Graduate secondary school education in welding technology, QA/QC or a related discipline at the University or College level or a minimum of 3 year work experience in QA/QC role.

SKILLS:

  • ACI Certification and concrete experience would be an asset.
    Level I Visual Weld inspection or II Visual Weld Inspection
  • Good communication and organizational skills
    Computer literate in MS Office
  • B&PV Code ASME Section 1, B31.1, B31.3 & Section VIII Div. 1 experience would be an asset.
  • Experience with Nuclear, ASME Code Section III experience would be an asset.
    Ability to pass a physical, lift 50 lbs., climb scaffolds and ladders, enter confined spaces, work at heights, wear full body harness, and wear a respirator and Personal Protective Equipment (as needed).

REQUIRED:
Must be Certified as SNT-TC-1A VT Level II, or the ability to obtain this certification of employment.
Civil and mechanical experience.
Citizenship Requirement:
This position requires access to nuclear facilities and information governed by U.S. federal regulations. As a result, applicants must be U.S. citizens to meet eligibility and security clearance requirements.
