Application Support Engineer

As a Salesforce Administrator, you will be responsible for ensuring that all Dunham information systems are properly working – from end-user setup and troubleshooting to data center administration and support. Job Summary (Purpose of Role)
Serve as the primary Salesforce Administrator and internal application systems resource, responsible for the design, configuration, optimization, and ongoing support of the Salesforce platform and related business applications. This role requires independent judgment in analyzing business requirements, designing system solutions, and implementing scalable configurations and enhancements.
The position combines Salesforce administration with application support, light development (Apex, integrations), and process automation, while contributing to system governance, data integrity, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Essential Functions (Primary Responsibilities)
Salesforce Administration & System Design

  • Serve as the primary administrator and subject matter expert for Salesforce, including system configuration, data architecture, security model, and platform optimization
  • Analyze business requirements and design scalable Salesforce solutions, including objects, fields, automation, and reporting structures
  • Maintain and enforce data governance standards, including data quality, deduplication strategies, and data lifecycle management
  • Configure and enhance workflows, Flows, validation rules, and reporting to support evolving business processes
  • Manage and support integrations between Salesforce and internal/external systems
Application Development & Automation
  • Develop and maintain Apex code, automation logic, and system enhancements where declarative tools are insufficient
  • Design and implement process automation to improve operational efficiency and reduce manual effort
  • Support system releases, testing, and deployment processes across environments
  • Evaluate and implement new platform capabilities and third-party tools
Application Support & System Optimization
  • Provide Tier 2/3 application support for Salesforce and related business systems, including troubleshooting complex issues and performing root cause analysis
  • Monitor system performance and proactively identify opportunities for improvement
  • Develop and maintain system documentation, standards, and best practices
  • Deliver user enablement through training, guidance, and documentation
Continuous Improvement & Innovation
  • Identify and lead initiatives to improve system functionality, automation, and data usability
  • Partner with business and IT stakeholders to align system capabilities with organizational objectives
  • Evaluate emerging technologies, including AI and automation tools, to enhance system capabilities and user productivity
Secondary Responsibilities
  • Provide limited support for broader IT systems and applications, primarily as it relates to application functionality and integration points
  • Assist with system-related troubleshooting in coordination with infrastructure or support teams
  • Support data backup validation, system maintenance activities, and environment management as needed
Education & Certifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field preferred (or equivalent experience)
  • Salesforce Administrator Certification required or strongly preferred
  • Additional certifications (Advanced Admin, Platform Developer I, or related) are a plus
Experience Required
  • 3–5 years of Salesforce administration experience with increasing responsibility
  • Experience designing and implementing Salesforce solutions (configuration, automation, reporting)
  • Working knowledge of Apex, SOQL, and platform development concepts
  • Experience supporting business-critical applications in a professional environment
  • Familiarity with system integrations, APIs, and data management tools
Preferred:
  • Experience in financial services or regulated environments
  • Exposure to AI tools, automation platforms, or advanced analytics
  • Understanding of system security principles and access control models

Salary commensurate with experience to include education and certifications:

$80,000 - $100,000 salary

Dunham offers a complete benefits package to full-time employees who regularly work more than 30 hours per week. Interns and temporary employees are not eligible for these benefits.
