Job Title: Senior QA Engineer - Data & ETL Testing
Location: Remote / NJ USA

Position Overview:
We are seeking a Senior QA Engineer (Data & ETL Testing) to ensure the quality, integrity, and reliability of data across our enterprise data warehouse (EDW) environments. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in validating data movement, transformation, and quality within on-premises and cloud-based data platforms.
You will collaborate closely with data engineers, architects, and analysts to test ETL processes, data pipelines, and reporting layers while implementing and improving QA best practices for data validation and automation.
Key Responsibilities
  • Data & ETL Testing
  • Perform source-to-target testing for EDW systems using SQL (manual and automated).
  • Validate data transformations, manipulations, and data quality/completeness across data pipelines.
  • Conduct comprehensive testing of ETL processes, dimensional data models, and reports.
  • Execute ETL workflows and data validation processes using scheduling tools.
  • Quality Assurance & Process Improvement
  • Develop and execute test plans to validate data within on-prem and cloud data warehouses.
  • Identify, document, and resolve data quality issues in collaboration with data engineering teams.
  • Ensure consistency and accuracy of data across various sources and reporting systems.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of QA testing strategies and methodologies.
  • Implement QA automation frameworks and best practices for data validation.
  • Collaboration & Reporting
  • Partner with BAs, data engineers, architects, and QA leads to define test requirements and deliverables.
  • Work with the Lead Data QA Engineer to maintain and support testing infrastructure.
  • Prepare detailed reports on data quality findings, metrics, and improvement recommendations.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
  • 8 years of experience in data warehouse testing or development.
  • Strong understanding of Data Warehousing (DW), ETL, and Data Quality concepts.
  • Proficiency in SQL, RDBMS, and ETL validation.
  • Experience validating reports and dashboards using Tableau, Power BI, or similar tools.
  • Exceptional attention to detail with a strong, results-driven approach.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Self-starter with strong ownership, accountability, and collaboration skills.
  • Willingness to provide off-hour support as needed.

IMP Skills:
  • Experience with SSIS and MS SQL Server.
  • Exposure to Snowflake and DBT environments.
  • Familiarity with QA automation tools and frameworks.
  • Understanding of ETL workflows, data warehouse testing procedures, and cloud data ecosystems.
  • Experience with Insurance data and hybrid (on-prem/cloud) architectures is a plus.
