Join a growing Home Sleep and Medical Department serving the Midwest region, where patient care and service excellence are top priorities. As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), you will play a vital role in delivering compassionate nursing care through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. You will work closely under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or physician, assisting with medication administration and patient teaching while adhering to professional nursing standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Accurately transcribe and communicate oral and written orders.
- Provide nursing care following the interdisciplinary plan, including medication administration and monitoring.
- Prepare and administer oral and injectable medications, assist with non-medicated IV fluids, and monitor IV infusions.
- Obtain patient history and perform ongoing physical and psychosocial reassessments.
- Implement clinical procedures such as urinary catheter insertion, EKG and telemetry monitoring, tube feedings, wound care, suctioning, accu-checks, enemas, staple removal, and application of heat/cold therapy.
- Participate in discharge planning, patient and family education, and interdisciplinary team meetings.
- Document immunizations, medications, and patient care accurately.
- Provide emotional support to patients and families.
- Assist in mentoring and orienting new staff members.
- Demonstrate flexibility and resourcefulness in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Education and Licensure
Graduation from an accredited nursing program and current licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) eligible to practice in the Midwest region.
Experience and Skills
- Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities to quickly diagnose and resolve issues.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to train and support others effectively.
- Knowledge of data protection regulations such as HIPAA and experience implementing patient data security measures.
- Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining data accuracy and patient privacy.
- Ability to prioritize workload efficiently in a fast-paced setting.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification by the American Heart Association.
