Our client seeks a Senior Project Manager to lead multiple utility power projects across distribution and transmission. The role will manage scope, schedule, cost, risk, and stakeholder communications while applying Agile project management practices where appropriate. The position requires advanced data management skills in Excel and Access to interpret complex project documents and support decision making.

Due to client requirements, applicants must be willing and able to work on a w2 basis. For our w2 consultants, we offer a great benefits package that includes Medical, Dental, and Vision benefits, 401k with company matching, and life insurance.

Rate: $63.00 to $73.00/hr. w2

Responsibilities:
  • Lead multiple projects through full lifecycle with adherence to the Project Management Center of Excellence standards.
  • Develop and manage project plans, schedules, budgets, and cost controls with proficiency in scheduling and reporting tools.
  • Identify, analyze, and mitigate project risks while ensuring compliance with utility safety and regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams and vendors, enabling strong collaboration across organizational levels up to senior leadership.
  • Apply Agile project management practices where appropriate to drive delivery and transparency.
  • Prepare and deliver clear written and oral communications, including status reporting and executive updates.
  • Leverage advanced Excel and Access to manage data, build pivot tables and VLOOKUPs, and interpret complex documentation.
  • Support construction management interfaces and oversee project execution in distribution and transmission environments.
Experience Requirements:
  • 6 to 9 years of project management experience, preferably within the utility industry.
  • Agile project management experience preferred.
  • Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables and VLOOKUPs.
  • Advanced data management experience in Excel and Access.
  • Demonstrated decision making, critical thinking, problem solving, and risk management.
  • Working knowledge to proficiency in scheduling and cost controls.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills and cross-organizational collaboration.
  • Experience interacting with stakeholders from individual contributors to executive management.
Education Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Preferred: Master’s in business, project management, or equivalent.
  • Preferred certifications: PMP or CAPM, Utility Technical Certifications/Training, CMII/Construction Certifications, or Professional Engineer License.
