Job description

Data Architect – Senior

Immediate openings for a Data Architect – Senior to work in support of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). The Data Architect – Senior role is responsible for working with a diverse set of stakeholders to:

  • Create cloud data models and database architecture using database deployment, monitoring automation code, and for long term technical viability of cloud master data management integrated repositories.
  • Creating data flow diagrams
  • Suggest ideas to improve system performance and cost reduction
  • Communicate data architecture to stakeholders and collaborate and coordinate with other technical staff

Technical experience: Bachelor’s and following related experience:

  • 3-5 years of Application Development and deployment experience
  • 2+ Experience with creating Data Dependency, Data Structures and Data Access controls
  • 2+ Experience with integrating various Data ingress points, data ingestion and Data Quality
  • 2+ Experience is using the Azure/AWS native cloud services for data
  • 2+ Experience in Data Backup & Data migration strategy
  • Experience with Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, and Azure SQL
  • Experience developing and deploying ETL solutions on Azure/AWS
  • Extensive hands-on experience implementing data migration and data processing on a cloud environment

Preferred Experience in one or more skill areas:

  • Azure DevSecOps: Azure Boards, Azure Pipeline based CI/CD software releases and code branch workflow
  • Azure Repo based code repository management and security
  • Experience working with Azure native services such as Synapse, Data Lake Storage, Alation, and Power BI
  • Azure Cloud Data Solution certifications or equivalent
