Overview
Ansible Government Solutions, LLC (Ansible) is currently recruiting multiple Sterile Processing Technicians to support the VA Central California Health Care System located at 2615 East Clinton Avenue, Fresno, CA 93703. Coverage includes weekdays, weekends, and holidays. Ansible is a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) providing Federal customers with solutions in many arenas. Our customers face wide-ranging challenges in the fields of national security, health care, and information technology. To address these challenges, we employ intelligent and committed staff who take care of our customers' success as if it is their own.
Responsibilities
  • Cleaning and decontaminating surgical instruments and medical equipment.
  • Sterilizing instruments using autoclaves, V-Pro, machine washers, and ultrasonics.
  • Inspecting instruments for damage, wear, staining, rust, and functionality.
  • Reassembling and packaging instruments per AAMI, AORN, FDA, OSHA, and manufacturer instructions.
  • Labeling and documenting sterilized packages accurately.
  • Maintaining records of cleaning, sterilization, and maintenance activities.
  • Adhering to infection control protocols and wearing appropriate PPE.
  • Operating within VA standards and national healthcare guidelines.
  • Participating in training and mentoring new staff on sterile processing procedures.
  • Signing in/out daily and maintaining accurate timekeeping.
  • Providing coverage during absences and ensuring continuity of care.
  • Responding to schedule changes and emergencies within 2 hours.
  • Complying with VA privacy, security, and data handling policies.

Qualifications
  • Meets ONE OR MORE of the following requirements:
    • Certification as a Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) or higher by International Association of Healthcare Central Service Material Management (IAHCSMM/HSPA).
    • Graduation from a nationally recognized CRCST training program with a minimum of 2 current years of documented work in the field.
    • Graduation from a nationally recognized Operating Room Technician training program with a minimum of 2 current years of documented work experience in a Sterile Processing Service environment.
    • Graduation from a US military training program for Surgical Technicians with a minimum of 2 current years of documented work experience in a Sterile Processing Service environment.
    • VA Level 2 certification with a minimum of 2 years current work experience in the SPS environment.
    • Non-Certified technicians with documented and verifiable SPS hands on work experience for a minimum of 5 years.
  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
  • Minimum of two (2) years recent experience in sterile processing
  • Ability to operate sterilization equipment and follow manufacturer instructions
  • Ability to speak, understand, read, and write English fluently
  • Knowledge of sterile and unsterile medical supplies and equipment
  • Physical ability to stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, twist, and reach above shoulders during work shift
  • Familiarity with automated inventory management systems preferred
  • Experience with barcoding inventory control systems preferred
  • Knowledge of aseptic techniques and proper cleaning procedures
  • Ability to successfully pass a government background investigation
  • U.S. citizenship required

Pay Range: $30.00 - $35.09 hourly
All candidates must be able to:
  • Sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, twist, and reach above shoulders during the work shift
  • Lift up to 50 lbs from floor to waist
  • Lift up to 20 lbs
  • Carry up to 40 lbs a reasonable distance
  • Push/pull with 30 lbs of force
