Job description

A well-established direct mail fundraising agency based in McLean, VA, is seeking an experienced Group Director to join our team. We are looking for a motivated, detail-oriented professional with experience managing direct mail fundraising campaigns and coordinating all aspects of campaign production.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage direct mail fundraising campaigns from planning through production and delivery.

• Serve as the primary contact for assigned client accounts and build strong client relationships.

• Manage three to four client accounts.

• Coordinate with data processing, mail list, graphics, print/mail production, and caging to ensure projects are completed accurately and on schedule.

• Oversee print and mail production, ensuring quality, accuracy, and adherence to project timelines.

• Collaborate with graphic designers on campaign concepts and creative execution.

• Review proofs, data files, production specifications, and mailing schedules.

• Develop project timelines, monitor budgets, and proactively resolve production issues.

• Interpret and analyze campaign statistics and results.

• Supervise, train, and mentor junior support staff.

• Prioritize multiple projects while maintaining exceptional attention to detail.


Qualifications

• 5+ years of direct mail fundraising or direct mail agency experience.

• Strong knowledge of print and mail production (required and considered the most important qualification).

• Experience managing direct mail data processing, caging, graphics, mail list selection, and client communications.

• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret campaign performance and recommend improvements.

• Excellent organizational, project management, and communication skills.

• Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced, client-focused environment.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.


Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with nonprofit fundraising organizations.

• Knowledge of USPS mailing regulations and direct mail production processes.

• Copywriting experience is a plus but not required.

• Experience managing budgets and supervising staff.


Compensation


$80K - $105K Per Year


Salary is commensurate with experience and qualifications. A highly competitive salary will

be offered to candidates with extensive experience managing all aspects of direct mail

fundraising programs and client relationships.
