Job Overview

We do not sponsor applicants for work visas for this position.

The Data Platform Administrator keeps Marvin's cloud data platform running smoothly, securely, and efficiently. This role focuses on the daytoday health of our data tools-primarily Snowflake, dbt, and Fivetran-making sure they're reliable, wellgoverned, and costeffective.

This is an operationsfirst role, not a solution design role. You'll work closely with Data Architects, Data Engineers, and Analytics teams to support analytics, reporting, and data pipelines, while helping the platform scale as our data capabilities continue to grow.

Highlights of your roleWhat You'll Do
  • You'll manage and monitor the core components of our data platform across development, test, and production environments. This includes configuring environments, maintaining platform settings, and ensuring performance, availability, and reliability for users and downstream systems.
  • You'll be responsible for administering Snowflake-managing databases, warehouses, roles, access controls, and resource monitors. You'll keep an eye on usage and costs, tuning warehouse sizing and scaling to strike the right balance between performance and spend, and partnering with finance and platform stakeholders when needed.
  • You'll also support the operational side of dbt and Fivetran, monitoring jobs and connectors, troubleshooting issues, and working with Data Engineering to resolve pipeline failures or performance problems.
  • Security and governance are a key part of the job. You'll enforce rolebased access controls, support audits and reviews, and work with Data Governance and Security teams to ensure platform configurations align with enterprise policies.
  • Finally, you'll collaborate closely with data and analytics partners-helping teams use the platform effectively, sharing best practices, contributing to documentation and runbooks, and supporting BI and reporting workloads.
What We're Looking For
  • You have handson experience supporting a modern cloud data platform in a production environment, with a solid understanding of Snowflake fundamentals like warehouses, databases, schemas, roles, and usage monitoring. You're comfortable supporting tools like dbt and Fivetran from an operational standpoint and understand how data pipelines and analytics workloads behave.
  • You know how to manage access securely, troubleshoot performance and reliability issues, and think critically about cost optimization. You're collaborative, can communicate clearly with technical and nontechnical partners, and are comfortable working across engineering, analytics, architecture, and governance teams.
You're a good fit if you have (or if you can)
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field - or equivalent practical experience
  • 2-4 years of experience supporting cloud data platforms or analytics ecosystems
  • Working knowledge of SQL and modern analytics tools, enough to support and troubleshoot platform usage
  • Experience supporting BI and analytics tools (such as Power BI) is a plus
  • Strong problemsolving, communication, and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently while thriving in a fastpaced, projectdriven environment
Also want to make sure you have
  • Experience supporting enterprise data warehouses or analytics platforms, especially in complex or manufacturing environments
  • Experience with ELT/ETL pipelines and data transformations using dbt or similar tools
  • Familiarity with modern data engineering practices like version control, code reviews, and environment promotion
  • Interest in growing over time into more handson data engineering and pipeline support work
