Job Summary: The Data Platform & Analytics Manager is responsible for managing a team of experienced data engineers, scientists, and analysts. Develops and executes project and process plans, implements policies and procedures and sets operational goals. Acquiring resources for projects and processes provides technical management of suppliers and leads process improvements. Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reports. Provides vision, oversight, and approval of technical approaches, products and processes. Manages, develops and motivates employees. This is an onsite role in our office in El Segundo, CA.

This position's internal job code is Data Science & Analytics Manager. Our team is currently hiring for a level K.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Team Leadership - Recruit, coach, and retain a high-performing team of data platform architects, data scientists, analytics/ML engineers, and BI analysts
  • Enterprise Data Platform Ownership - Serve as technical authority for the data platform systems
  • Process & Delivery Excellence - Implement modern DevSecOps for data: CI/CD, IaC, automated testing, architecture decision records, and runbooks
  • Collaboration - Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business needs and translate them into scalable technical solutions
  • Roadmap - Support enterprise initiatives including Synapse, Purview, and related modernization programs
  • Compliance - Ensure solutions meet ITAR and internal compliance requirements

Boeing First-Line Leader Assessment:To be considered for this position you will be required to complete an assessment as part of the selection process. Failure to complete the assessment will remove you from consideration.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent years of experience
  • Minimum of 7 years' experience in data engineering, data science, analytics, or cloud data platform development
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in leading technical teams
  • Deep understanding of data modeling, metadata management, lineage, and governance frameworks
  • This position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship.A final U.S. clearance Post Start is required

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Experience with Azure Synapse, Purview, Databricks, or equivalent platforms
  • Background supporting analytics, BI, and ML workloads
  • Experience designing scalable systems for both real-time and batch workloads
  • Strong communication skills; ability to lead design sessions and mentor engineering teams
  • Experience in aerospace or other regulated industries is a plus
