Job description

AAA Club Alliance is currently seeking a full-time Marketing Data Strategy Manager to join our team in one of our office locations: Wilmington, DE, or Cincinnati, OH, or Worthington, OH.

This position follows a hybrid work schedule, with on-site presence required Tuesday through Thursday.

The primary duties of the Marketing Data Strategy Manager are to:

  • Define and lead the marketing data strategy, operating model, and governance framework to ensure data is effectively managed, trusted, and activated across the marketing lifecycle.

  • Own the end-to-end flow of marketing data, including ingestion, transformation, enrichment, integration, and activation, enabling audience targeting, segmentation, personalization, and performance optimization.

  • Lead data enrichment initiatives and manage third-party data providers to improve prospecting, audience intelligence, addressable market reach, and overall marketing effectiveness.

  • Establish scalable processes, standards, and controls that ensure data quality, integrity, security, compliance, and responsible use across marketing systems and platforms.

  • Partner with Legal, Compliance, IT, and Enterprise Data teams to ensure adherence to privacy regulations, consent management requirements, and organizational data governance policies.

  • Build and enhance the marketing data foundation needed to support omnichannel personalization, customer journey orchestration, trigger-based campaigns, and real-time customer engagement.

  • Serve as the primary liaison between Marketing, IT, Data, CRM, and Analytics teams to align priorities, enable data-driven decision-making, and ensure marketing data is available for activation, measurement, and optimization.

  • Develop frameworks, best practices, and training that improve data literacy, adoption, and effective use of marketing data across the organization.

  • Manage external vendors and partners supporting marketing data capabilities and enrichment services.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Data Analytics, Business, Information Systems, or related field required. Advanced degree (e.g., MBA, MS in Data Analytics, or related field) preferred. A combination of education and experience may be considered in lieu of degree.

  • 8 years of experience in marketing operations, marketing data operations, CRM, or related fields, with a strong focus on data management and enablement.

  • Proven experience managing marketing data operations, including data flows, data lifecycle management, data quality, and governance.

  • Experience establishing and enforcing data governance, data quality, and compliance frameworks, including privacy and consent management.

  • Experience supporting segmentation, personalization, and campaign execution through effective data management practices.

  • Experience evaluating and working with data providers and enrichment solutions.

  • Experience with marketing technology platforms (e.g., Salesforce, Adobe, CDPs, marketing automation tools).

  • Experience working in large, complex data environments.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong understanding of how marketing data moves across systems, including data ingestion, transformation, enrichment, and activation processes.

  • Demonstrated ability to partner cross-functionally with marketing, IT, and data teams to improve data usability and accessibility.

  • Deep understanding of marketing data operations, data flows, and lifecycle management.

  • Strong understanding of data privacy regulations and their application in marketing contexts.

  • Demonstrated ability to influence stakeholders and drive adoption of data standards and best practices.

  • Strong expertise in data governance, data quality management, and compliance practices.

  • Knowledge of privacy regulations and consent management in marketing environments.

  • Ability to translate complex data concepts into actionable marketing strategies.

  • Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills.

  • Proven ability to lead through influence in a cross-functional, matrixed environment.

  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to educate non-technical audiences.

  • Strong program and project management capabilities.

  • Ability to drive data literacy, adoption, and organizational change.

  • Adaptability in a rapidly evolving data and marketing technology landscape.

  • Familiarity with data modeling or data architecture concepts.
