BTS Software Solutions is seeking a Senior Maven Exploitation Specialist/ Data Manager to support Department of Defense IC missions at Springfield, VA.

The Maven Exploitation Specialist/ Data Manager will provide technical and
managerial leadership to maintain overhead satellite imagery preprocessing operations. The Data Manager shall provide technical recommendations and monitor and support the implementation for the data operations pipeline to include integration among the data acquisition, data preprocessing, and data management platform. The Data Manager serves as the Government's main communication interface to the GEOSPI team to relay tasks and requirements and ensure successful work execution.

Primary Location: Springfield, VA

Secondary Locations: St. Louis, Missouri

Clearance Requirement: TS/SCI, must be willing to take a CI Poly in the future

What You’ll Get to Do:

Job Duties:

  • Oversee and manage the data, databases, and pipelines related to NGA Maven's overhead satellite data acquisition, curation, and preprocessing, ensuring that they are compliant with specified requirements and priorities
  • Conduct regular Quality Control (QC), managing, and monitoring of data to ensure it aligns to existing data standards and specifications
  • Identify non-compliant datasets in relation to adherence to data schemas and standards, to include metadata completeness, accuracy, and consistency
  • Assess and report NGA Maven's data holdings compliance status through written documentation and oral presentations
  • Apply engineering best practices to optimize data pipeline efficiency and performance across all sensor modalities (e.g., EO, FMV, HMI, SAR)
  • Lead and manage other GEOSPI contractor data operations members by providing technical expertise and project management guidance for data creation and management initiatives
  • Ensure data dictionaries, Entity Relationship Diagrams (ERD), and software comments and documentation are regularly maintained and updated
  • Manage the data operations pipeline to include imagery acquisition and ingest, imagery preprocessing and transformations, and bi-directional data movement between platforms to enable successful data transfer, storage, and manipulation according to requirements

Education/Experience:

  • 3+ years of people management experience ( e.g., team lead, project lead) and excellent communication and keen problem-solving skills. Extensive technical project management experience, independently initiating and driving projects to completion, and experience solving strategic problems
  • 4+ years of experience doing quantitative analysis, developing visualizations, and
    processing complex data to create data-driven insights. This should include experience
    with data manipulation, extract, transform, load (ETL) procedures, and a working
    knowledge of database technologies (SQL, NoSQL). Demonstrated experience managing databases and data pipelines. Experience working with cloud architectures.
  • 2+ years of experience working with large, complex geospatial data files and formats.

Desired Skills

  • Experience using Agile/SAFe methodologies
  • Experience with NGA enterprise technology systems, such as NGA CORE and MLOps
  • GEOINT Professional Certification - Fundamentals (F)
  • Experience working with AI/ML technologies applied to geospatial data

Pay Range: $175,000-$195,000
