We are seeking a highly experienced Data Operations Technical Lead to support DOW, responsible for delivering the foundational data infrastructure that transforms enterprise data into a strategic asset and enables advanced analytics and AI across warfighting functions.
The ideal candidate will lead enterprise data operations within a highly secure, distributed, multi-cloud environment, ensuring scalable, reliable, and mission-ready data capabilities that support real-time decision-making in complex operational settings.
This role is onsite in Tampa, FL and requires an active TS/SCI security clearance.

Job-Specific Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Enterprise Data Operations Leadership
- Serve as the Data Operations Technical Lead (Hub) supporting enterprise development and digital transformation initiatives.
- Lead delivery of data management, governance, and engineering capabilities across program components.
- Coordinate with Program Manager, Data Science Technical Lead, and Government stakeholders to align data strategy with mission priorities.
Data Engineering & Infrastructure
- Design, build, and maintain scalable, resilient data pipelines and platforms across hybrid and multi-cloud environments.
- Enable ingestion, integration, and processing of large-scale structured and unstructured data.
- Ensure data availability across NIPRNet, SIPRNet, and other security enclaves, including DIL (Disconnected/Intermittent/Low-bandwidth) environments.
- Implement Extract, Transform, and Load processes and automated pipelines for batch and real-time analytics.
Data Management & Governance
- Develop and implement enterprise data management frameworks aligned to program policies and Visible, Accessible, Understandable, Linked, Trustworthy, Interoperable (VAULTIS) principles.
- Establish processes for data quality, lineage, metadata, and ownership across decentralized data domains.
- Treat data as a product, supporting domain ownership and data product lifecycle management.
- Enable secure data sharing solutions for interoperability across program and partner organizations.
Platform & Technology Enablement
- Operate within information environment leveraging:
- Cloud + on-prem infrastructure
- Technologies such as Kubernetes, Docker, Spark, Kafka, Snowflake, Redshift
- Support integration with analytics, artificial intelligence (AI)/Machine Learning (ML), and ML operations platforms.
- Enable Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) and DevSecOps practices for data systems.
Operational & Mission Support
- Translate operational requirements into data engineering solutions supporting warfighter decision-making.
- Support near real-time analytics capabilities for operational environments.
- Ensure systems are optimized for mission-critical reliability, performance, and security compliance.
Security & Compliance
- Ensure all data operations comply with DoD, and cybersecurity policies.
- Support Risk Management Framework (RMF), ATO processes, and continuous monitoring.
- Maintain a proactive security posture aligned with enterprise AI and data initiatives.
Job-Specific Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, or a related technical discipline
- 8+ years of experience managing digital/data projects supporting DoD Enterprise customers
- An active TS/SCI clearance is required.
- Must be located in one of the following areas: Tampa, FL, Fayetteville, NC, San Diego, CA, VA Beach, VA, Pensacola, FL OR Lejeune, NC.
- Proven experience leading data operations, engineering, or platform teams in Federal/DoD environments
- Data pipelines (ETL/ELT), data lakes/warehouses
- Distributed processing (Spark/Kafka or equivalent)
- Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GovCloud environments)
- SQL, Python, or similar programming languages
Preferred Skills and Qualifications:
- Master's degree in a technical or analytics-related field
- Specialized certifications: Cloud (AWS, Azure), Data Engineering, DevSecOps /Agile
- Familiarity with the following:
- Data-as-a-product models and domain architectures
- AI/ML data pipelines and MLOps
- DevSecOps and CI/CD pipelines
- Experience operating in multi-classification environments (NIPR/SIPR/JWICS).
- Experience supporting OCONUS operations or global mission partners.
