What does a data operations associate do?

A Data Operations Associate is responsible for managing and maintaining the flow of data within an organization. They ensure data is collected, processed, and stored accurately, supporting data integrity and availability for business needs. Data Operations Associates often encounter challenges such as ensuring data consistency and accuracy when integrating information from different sources. Managing data pipelines and troubleshooting data flow issues can be complex, especially as organizations scale and adopt new technologies. • Liaise with technology partners and business stakeholders to implement change requests, support testing, validate production releases and resolve reporting or system issues.
  • Support cross-functional initiatives involving GBM Client Onboarding systems, regulatory data flows, counterparty scoping, business transformation, reporting automation and data governance.
  • Act as a subject matter resource on the availability, structure and interpretation of counterparty data used for analytics, regulatory scoping, control reporting and management information.
  • Maintain process documentation, data dictionaries, queries, audit trails, requirements, test scripts and process flows to support the administration, control and governance of onboarding platforms and reporting processes.
  • Prepare and quality-assure recurring and ad hoc reports for regulatory, operational, audit, control and management reporting needs using approved data sources.
  • Continuously build knowledge of business strategies, regulatory requirements, risk practices, products, operational processes, onboarding technology and reporting tools.
  • Understand how the Bank's risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
  • Promote efficient operations and effective day-to-day controls to meet operational risk, regulatory compliance, AML/ATF and conduct risk obligations.
  • Contribute to a high-performance, inclusive environment through knowledge sharing, collaboration, continuous improvement and stakeholder engagement.
