Job description

The Senior Network Engineer will perform all activities related to supporting DoD OIGโ€™s capability to provide a reliable, scalable, and secure high-speed Data Network infrastructure and operating an efficient, effective, and secure network infrastructure.

  • Recommend WAN/LAN/Virtual/VPN/requirements based on business needs and industry best practices .
  • Recommend Data Network capacity thresholds.
  • Provide capacity and performance reports as required.
  • Provision, and maintain all Data Network components as agreed to by the Parties.
  • Maintain all Data Network components in accordance with vendor maintenance agreements and current DoD OIG-provided security policies.
  • Report performance against Service Level Requirements.
  • Develop and provide high-level and detailed network design artifacts.
  • Prepare Data Network design, engineering, and security, plans and schedules to support new and enhanced Applications, architectures, and standards.
  • Develop testing and integration procedures for Data Network design, engineering and security that meet requirements and adhere to defined policies.
  • Coordinate with the DoD OIGโ€™s Service Recipients, and public carriers, as required.

Requirements

  • Must have Secret security clearance.
  • Must have a bachelorโ€™s degree in computer science, information systems, information technology, engineering, telecommunications, or related technical field.
  • Must have at least 10 yearsโ€™ IT experience with at least 7 yearsโ€™ experience with enterprise network design, implementation, and management.
  • Must have at least 5 yearsโ€™ experience managing complex WAN/LAN environments supporting 1,000+ users across multiple geographic locations.
  • Must have at least 5 yearsโ€™ experience with VPN services to include provisioning, monitoring,
  • and the management of site-to-site VPN connectivity and remote user access solutions.
  • Must have at least 3 yearsโ€™ experience with hybrid network environments integrating on-premises infrastructure with cloud network services, and experience with network capacity planning, performance monitoring, and threshold management for enterprise-scale networks.
  • Must have at least 3 yearsโ€™ experience with network services and network topology design and implementation.
  • Must be certified as IAT Level II per DoD Task 5.3 Digital Workplace Services & 8570.01-M guidance for Baseline certifications.
  • Must be able to obtain a TASKORD related computing environment system certification IAW DoD 8570.01-M guidance for computing environment certifications as approved by agency IAWIP coordinator.
  • Must have Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE)/Juniper Networks Certified Expert (JNCIE) certification.
  • Must have Routing and Switching certification.

  • Masterโ€™s degree in computer science, information systems, business administration, or related field.
