Job description

Join a finance modernization initiative where you will help build practical, scalable data governance capabilities that improve trust, consistency, and visibility across critical financial data. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on work, cross-functional partnership, and creating governance processes that are simple enough to adopt and strong enough to make a lasting impact.

Responsibilities
  • Help establish and operationalize a pragmatic data governance framework for key financial data domains.
  • Define data ownership and stewardship practices that support accountability across business and technology teams.
  • Develop and maintain data lineage for important financial data flows.
  • Improve data quality standards, monitoring approaches, and issue remediation processes.
  • Support the creation of shared business definitions, metadata, and consistent data definitions.
  • Partner with finance and technology stakeholders to standardize critical data elements.
  • Provide practical governance guidance based on prior implementation experience.
  • Recommend policies and operating practices that are effective, clear, and easy to adopt.
  • Support broader modernization efforts aimed at creating a trusted view of how the organization generates revenue.
Skills
  • Proven experience implementing data governance programs.
  • Hands-on background in data lineage, data quality, metadata management, and master or reference data concepts.
  • Strong understanding of governance operating models and how to apply them in real-world settings.
  • Experience working with finance data domains and business stakeholders.
  • Ability to translate governance needs into practical actions and processes.
  • Strong collaboration skills and the ability to work across functions.
  • Clear, concise communication style with a focus on action and accountability.
  • Ability to guide others without overcomplicating the solution.
Preferred Skills
  • Experience supporting financial services organizations.
  • Exposure to data modernization initiatives and governance program launch efforts.
  • Familiarity with technical data platforms and governance tooling.
  • Experience helping teams move from informal practices to sustainable governance processes.
  • Comfort advising on structured but practical policies for data access, quality, and stewardship.
