Job description

We are seeking an experienced Oracle ERP Data Lead to join a high-impact, multi-year enterprise transformation program for a leading utility provider. This role is critical to the success of migrating from a legacy SAP ERP platform to the latest Oracle Fusion Cloud ERP SaaS-based environment. As the Data Governance Lead, you will own and drive data strategy, governance frameworks, and the orchestration of enterprise data migration, ensuring data integrity, consistency, and compliance with business and regulatory standards.

You will be part of a cross-functional ERP transformation team responsible for aligning business needs with technology outcomes, specifically leading data migration and governance initiatives to support Oracle Cloud ERP and analytical reporting platforms.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the data governance strategy and execution for the Oracle ERP Cloud implementation, ensuring quality, consistency, and compliance across enterprise data sets.

  • Manage the end-to-end data lifecycle, including data mapping, cleansing, migration, validation, and reconciliation from SAP to Oracle Fusion Cloud ERP.

  • Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to define data ownership, stewardship, classification, and quality metrics.

  • Oversee the data conversion team, ensuring the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of all data activities across functional workstreams (Finance, Supply Chain, Projects, HR, etc.).

  • Partner with Business Intelligence teams to support post-migration analytical reporting and data modeling requirements.

  • Ensure governance across master and transactional data domains including GL, AP, AR, FA, SCM, Projects, and HRMS.

  • Develop and enforce data quality standards, data dictionaries, business glossaries, and metadata management processes.

  • Work closely with System Integrators, internal IT, and business teams to design and execute the data migration cutover strategy and mock runs.

  • Identify data-related risks and establish controls to mitigate them through audits and reconciliation procedures.

  • Report on data quality KPIs, progress of data readiness, and migration milestones to project leadership.

Required Qualifications

  • 10–12 years of total experience, with at least 5+ years of experience as a Data Governance or Data Lead on large-scale Oracle ERP or cloud migration projects.

  • Proven experience in data migration from SAP or other legacy systems to Oracle Fusion Cloud.

  • Deep understanding of data governance frameworks, MDM (Master Data Management), and data quality principles.

  • Strong experience working with data migration tools, ETL processes, and data cleansing methodologies.

  • Familiarity with Oracle reporting and analytics platforms (e.g., OTBI, BI Publisher, Oracle Analytics Cloud).

  • Experience in the utilities industry (electric, water, gas, et al).

  • Exceptional communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related discipline; advanced degree preferred.
