Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced SAP Data Governance Expert responsible for designing, implementing, and governing enterprise data management frameworks within the SAP ecosystem. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in SAP master data governance, data quality, data lifecycle management, and data integration, with hands-on experience in SAP Master Data Governance (MDG) and SAP BusinessObjects Data Services (BODS).
This role will collaborate with business stakeholders, data owners, IT teams, and enterprise architects to ensure high-quality, consistent, and governed data across SAP landscapes including SAP S/4HANA, ECC, and related enterprise systems.
The SAP Data Governance Expert will play a key role in defining governance policies, establishing data standards, improving data quality, and enabling trusted data for analytics and operational excellence.
PG&E is providing the full salary/pay range for this position. The actual amount paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, internal equity,specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, and geographic location. The range to reasonably expect will be around the minimum and the midpoint $140,000 - $189,000. The final decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to the factors above. This job is also eligible to participate in PG&E's discretionary incentive compensation programs.
Bay Area Min: $ 140,000
Bay Area Max: $ 238,000
This position is hybrid, working from your remote office at our Oakland Headquarters based on business need. The assigned work location will be within the PG&E Service Territory.
Job Responsibilities
  • Define and implement enterprise data governance frameworks aligned with organizational data strategy
  • Establish data policies, standards, and procedures for SAP master and transactional data
  • Define data ownership and stewardship models across business domains
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory, security, and privacy standards
  • Design, implement, and manage SAP MDG solutions for domains
  • Configure MDG data models, workflows, validations, and governance processes
  • Implement data approval workflows and governance lifecycle
  • Design custom governance rules and business validations
  • Define and implement data quality frameworks within SAP landscape
  • Establish data quality monitoring and remediation processes
  • Define and track data quality KPIs and metrics
  • Design and implement ETL pipelines using BODS for data migration, cleansing, transformation, and integration
  • Build data quality jobs and profiling routines
  • Develop data reconciliation and data validation frameworks
  • Support large-scale data migration projects (ECC S/4HANA)
  • Collaborate with enterprise architects and SAP functional teams to ensure consistent data models
  • Define data lifecycle management policies
  • Establish data change governance processes
  • Manage data stewardship workflows
  • Implement audit and compliance controls for master data
  • Define data synchronization and replication strategies
  • Define migration strategy and data cleansing approach
  • Work closely with Business data owners, data stewards, SAP functional consultants, and IT architecture teams

Qualifications
Minimum:
  • Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
  • 7 years experience in SAP data management or governance
