Job Description:

L3Harris Technologies, Inc. is seeking a manager to join its team of Configuration Management (CM) and Data Management (DM) professionals. This individual will oversee and manage a department that plans and coordinates preparation of project documentation, such as engineering drawings, production specifications and schedules, and contract modifications, to ensure customer contract requirements are met. They will be responsible for management of personnel and execution of tasks. They will manage the setup of new programs, including the creation of Configuration Management plans and baselines. The CM/DM manager implements and maintains an Engineering Change Request System, including product improvements, repairs, and new product development. They will coordinate the interaction between Engineering, Quality, Operations, Program Management, Contracts, and government customers to ensure changes are documented appropriately and contractual requirements are met.

Essential Functions:

  • Ability to think and draw conclusions quickly, adapt to change, be open to new ideas, take on new responsibilities, handle pressure, and adjust plans and priorities to meet changing needs
  • Plans for and uses resources efficiently, looks for ways to reduce costs, creates accurate and realistic budgets, tracks and adjusts budgets, contributes to budget planning
  • Defines roles and responsibilities, motivates and challenges employees, delegates effectively, rewards contributions, manages collaboratively
  • Has good listening skills, builds strong relationships, is flexible/open-minded, negotiates effectively, solicits performance feedback and handles constructive criticism
  • Ensures all contractual requirements pertaining to configuration management are implemented and followed on a given program
  • Validates engineering drawings, specifications, contract deliverables, various software documentation, contract modifications, and design release documents to ensure compliance with customer contract requirements
  • Develops, maintains, and executes plans to ensure contractual requirements
  • Analyzes proposed changes of product design to determine change classification and effect on overall product and system baselines
  • Manages functional, allocated, and product baselines through change management
  • Selects participants and participates in Configuration Control Board (CCB) meetings
  • Compiles audit information and conducts audits of systems to verify the baseline documentation is accurate and complete. Obtains customer acceptance of baseline documentation through formal configuration verifications and audits, such as functional configuration and physical configuration audits.
  • Audits subcontractors' CM documentation policies and procedures to verify compliance with prime contractor requirements
  • Ensures unique product identifiers for baseline data, systems/subsystems, and formal program deliverables are used. Tracks the status of these items using Configuration Status Accounting methodologies
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance

Qualifications:

  •  Bachelor's Degree and minimum 9 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 7 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 13 years of prior related experience.

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Experience with Configuration and Change Management processes, techniques, tools, related assignments (System, Hardware, Software), and project related work
  • Experience in a leadership role, communicating with stakeholders at all levels
  • Familiarity with configuration management standards, including EIA-649C
  • Ability to handle critique from internal and external audits and resolve audit findings, including CARs
  • Good written and verbal communication skills to allow effective communication with both technical and non-technical teams
  • Quality minded, with focus on data quality, process, and version control
  • Detail oriented and organized
  • Critical thinking and analytical, with research skills
  • Working knowledge of contract requirements identification, engineering design documentation, and build and test processes
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
